I stumbled upon Capizzo Studio’s website when I was looking for a place to hold the rehearsal dinner for our son’s wedding and wow, what a find!!! We’re from Boston, so we were setting this up without any knowledge of the area. We also didn’t want a formal sit-down dinner so the outdoor space at Capizzo was perfect. This space is so incredible; I don’t think the website does it justice. (Just a note, it was perfect for our type of event, but I also think it would work really well for a more formal affair.) Nick, the owner, connected us with places to get food and drink as well as extra tables if we needed them. The entire process was really quite easy and the staff there was so helpful! When we got there, Linda and James had set up signs complete with balloons so our guests would know where to park. Our plan was to have a buffet picnic style, so James also made sure that tables were set up around the backyard as well as inside. They all pitched in to help us serve the food and were incredibly attentive to anything we needed. There were two fire pits which we used toward evening. They also had yard games which the kids in our group loved. And then there was the amazing art that was in the gallery as well as outside. Several of our guests ended up purchasing pieces. All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a better place to hold our event. We felt good supporting a beautiful gallery and the staff at Capizzo already feels like old friends. We will certainly visit again when we’re back...
Read moreCapizzo is a hidden gem in the Saugatuck Douglas area! I live here and recently discovered it. Each time I stop in I’m pleasantly surprised by the breadth and quality of work. Always interesting. Always beautiful. Always thought provoking. If you are looking to refresh your space—or have a new build, like we us, this is the place to stop to pick up art and sculpture for your home. They have art at all price points and media. They host quite a few musical events too that I hope to one day get to. The owner and gallery staff were all very kind and passionate about the artists. I learned a lot! He and the co-owner are both artists and have a bit of their work on display as well. Curious to know more, I asked around to see which of my friends have been there. Many had been and also shared Nick’s (one of the owners) generosity and involvement in the community. He’s a supporter of our schools and many local organizations. Didn’t surprise me to learn that. I’ll be back!...
Read moreWe recently had a family wedding at the venue next door to this establishment on a Saturday afternoon. During the day as we were setting up, we heard a live band practicing at Capizzo. The wedding coordinator specifically spoke to someone about the time of the wedding and asked for the music to hold until after the ceremony. The band did not adhere to this and started playing during the ceremony, and when asked to stop, did not. That is unacceptable and Capizzo should be ashamed about being such a...
