I was so disappointed. Though everything was "cute" it wasn't the mouth watering, gazing-in-the-cases-trying-to-decide-which-to-get experience I was looking forward to. It was very sterile-feeling. Most things were pre-packaged, nothing looked warm or gooey, I don't recall anything chocolate, sizes were small and prices were high. My husband didn't choose anything and I only bought something because I was embarrassed to just walk out. There wasn't a large selection and I wasn't excited with what was offered. My $7 cinnamon roll was small-ish, not light or fluffy, it was hard and cold with a too-huge dollop of frosting set on top. He didn't offer to heat it and I had to try to spread the hard frosting around with my finger when I got to the car—as there was no seating available, only a sales counter. Retro Bakery is an absolute gem! Eric made a birthday/bachelorette carrot cake for my sister, and it was truly the highlight of the party. The cake was beautiful, moist, and hands-down one of the best carrot cakes we’ve ever had—everyone was in awe. We also ordered cookies (chocolate chip and spicy Mexican chocolate), and every single girl at the party was grabbing extras to take home. Even a week and a half later, the cookies are still moist and flavorful.

We stopped in today, 4-21-25 for the first time today and am so glad we did! I met the owner and I gotta say he was so nice and friendly. I bought a couple donuts and a Madeline cake, and a Blueberry cream cheese loaf. I had never heard of them before and they were absolutely like nothing I had ever had!!!! Just amazing Eric!
