I'm so late writing my review, shame on me. I was visiting from Boston due to a death in our immediate family. Full disclosure , I'm a former Community Relations Manager of 7+ years for Barnes and Noble. My story: I took a day to drive over to Saugatuck, which is a favorite destination of mine when I'm in Michigan. I don't know how I managed to miss this gem of a book store on prior trips. Cheryl, the owner, is truly one of the nicest merchants I've had the pleasure of meeting in years. Her warm and inviting personality are just what you'd want to find, especially if you're an avid reader. She gave me a quick tour of the different sections and also was very proud of the children's book nook that she added. If you have small children, or even elementary school age, and would love to shop without worrying about them (in peace and quiet) bring them here. It's like a magical room, complete with mural, and a whimsical feel that children will not want to leave. Cheryl also carries a great selection of antique books and I was able find a keeper all about Boston's history. I can't wait to return and talk to my new friend about her favorite titles and to also check out her adorable 📚 themed socks.

This is a true gem of a store in downtown Saugatuck. We stumbled upon this store on a gals trip this weekend, and we are already book lovers. The selection in here was fantastic, even their used books are very up to date. The owner is so lovely, kind, and welcoming. This is one of the best organized book stores we have ever been to. We all walked out with minimum 4 books, and we loved the experience so much we came back the next morning! They also have “date with a book” where you can buy a wrapped book to take a chance on not judging a book by its cover, we bought two and loved them!

Quite simply one of the best used bookstore I have ever come across! Not only is the selection fascinating and varied, the books are lovingly arranged neatly and with pride. One excellent thing to mention is that this shop takes my books on consignment - no crazy, mixed up 'trade in this for a partial credit that'. Something else I love...books aren't stacked on the floor or in cardboard boxes that you have to shuffle through. It appears to be more of a New Book store than used. As a book lover I can guarantee you love this place!

POSTSCRIPT (June 6th):

Since the proprietor's response, I accepted her invitation to discuss the matter. we believe anyone starting out a business for the first time as her social media pages states, deserves a second chance and perhaps we could have been prematurely hasty.

And on Saturday, June 2nd at 12:30 afternoon, we re-visited the store.

But her store was closed. And on the the busiest day of the week in a summer resort town.

Why an establishment not open for business during the aforementioned time and date is unfathomable. Other people passing by expressed amazement and all remarking the same thought. We peered in and saw boxes littered throughout the aisles.

INITIAL REVIEW: Dirty and disorganized. The woman had no knowledge of books, much less her inventory. All in all, it didn't matter: she appeared disinterested in assisting anyone. My friends and I had to leave because of the dust.

We did find a more suitable establishment down the block, Singapore Bookstore. The associate there was well versed on books and she had a...
