It’s taken me a year to finally right this as I’m still finding problems caused by a mechanic at the dealer. I buy a lot of vehicles for personal and for business. We purchased our expedition last fall, I specifically asked that I wanted to hear the vehicle started up and when I arrived the vehicle was already running out front. I specifically asked the salesmen if it made any noises and his response was “no” so I believed him. We sign all the paperwork and things were fine. We put a deposit down and everything was done, we had accounts on our former bronco as well as the expedition now. We then got a delay of a week for it to “go through the shop” after about a week we get a call that they did not have the title and needed it from another state. Another week goes by and at this point we pay a payment on our current bronco. We finally have them drive up for us to register it as they found some loophole and we were able to get a temporary plate but would need to schedule an additional appointment for them to come up and register it with us. The gentlemen who dropped off the car to us even said “I cannot believe some of the sh** they do here, they can do some incredibly shady things, I don’t blame you for being upset”. I finally get it home and the next morning come outside to the infamous cam phaser startup rattle. The exact problem I didn’t want to deal with. I express my anger and state I want our old vehicle back. They did everything in their power to ensure that that was not possible because it was already sold, mind you this was the next day. They drive back up to take our car to fix it, but mind you they did not give us a rental, which is insane to me as this problem was within 12 hours of us driving off with it. We had a 1 year old at the time and both work full time. After 2.5 weeks they drop the car off, which they drove back in 4a because the 4wd system was now howling and that’s how you get it to stop. I had to trace it back to a vacuum line left off. At this point I fixed that problem but continue to find problems to this day due to them. I did not get any paperwork as to what they fixed and had to pry to get it emailed to us a week later. I have since replaced the entire 4wd system as them driving an hour with the vacuum line they left off destroyed the actuators. I would love to know what was included on the “McGovern warranty” but it’s so vague and I’m not driving an hour to go back to deal with them at this point. I got a check engine light not long after that which was due to absolutely none of the intake system being tightened, it was all completely loose. I’m honestly not sure how it was even running or how much dirt was sucked in. I suppose I should have checked it over but life happens and I didn’t. About a month after that I found that the turbo boots were never tightened and completely loose. I can only imagine what under the hood could look like. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. They were nice when I bought the vehicle but it was amazing to see the lack of effort once they got us to sign paperwork. I eventually got to a point where I was texting the general manager daily for updates on almost all of this. We also got multiple late payment letters on our previous bronco to the point we had our first ever late payment on our credit report. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I have absolutely nothing...
Read moreIt's not so much the people it's the people who own it. Let me start by saying I will never go to a dealership again, I found out the hard way that there hourly rate was atrousish, it is $240.oo an hour. I had evap check valve replaced which shpuld have cost 2 00.00 to three hundred dollars, but cost me $795.95, a small light bulb over the license plate that cost $8.53 cents for the bulb and $69.00 for labor. Lets go on fuel injection system cleaning service cost $211.23. CP $ $130.23 LABOR $192.74. Estamate $250.00. For Disposal Charges and or Misc for repair $46.88. Total Break Down: Total Labor out of $1528.55 was $1185.71 about 3 quarters of the 1528.55 just in labor at $240.00 an hour. Of course I didn't know what the hourly rate was when I walked in the door I found out afterwards when the job was done. I f I knew what the hourly rate was I would have turned around and wallked out. But let me go on Parts $275.79, Misc charges 46.88, Taxes $20.17 Totaling $$1508.38, I told them to put all parts taken off the car to be placed in the box in my back seat received 1 part which was the EVAP Replacement Purge Valve, also Clean,Lube, and adjust Hood Latches $115.00. Replace a little bulb over the license plate $123.55, Performed Fuel Injection System Cleaning cost $211.23. I believed I got taken I will never go to a dealership again. I told the people at the front desk that the light I was talking about was my front headlight on the passengers side, I asked if it was all set instead they when I went to pickup the car and when I got home the headlight was not fixed and had to bring it back. I asked about 4 to 5 times is the headlight fixed and I always got it's all set.Two things I will always remember NEVER BRING YOUR CAR TO A DEALERSHIP and always ask any mechanic who is working on your car WHAT IS YOUR HOURLY RATE so you have that option to walk out the door if you want. Don't get stuck with a $$1528.55 like I did I paid what...
Read moreI left my Ford Expedition at the Ford dealership on Route 1 in Saugus, Massachusetts, with several issues. The repairs cost me around $15,000. They returned my car with other things that were working before now not working. Now I have a relatively new 2021 vehicle, but I can no longer enjoy using my CarPlay. When I brought the car in, they admitted that it had been working before and likely stopped working because of something they did. Still, they said that if I wanted it to work again, I would need to pay at least $400.
On top of that, they gave my car back with my dashcam disconnected and a dashboard light on, which prevented me from getting my inspection done. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with mechanics. I honestly don’t know if they let beginners work unsupervised, but that’s what it feels like. The oil change area — a separate department — has great, kind, and responsible people. But the maintenance area at this dealership is terrible.
I will never buy a Ford again in my life and will pass this on to my children, my grandchildren, and generations to come, all because of this awful dealer that returned my car in poor condition. I use my car for work, and now I can’t use my GPS through CarPlay. Anyone in this field knows how important and safe that is. Now I have to keep looking down at my phone screen instead of the road, even though my 2021 car is fully equipped to use CarPlay safely and conveniently.
They simply disconnected my dashcam and never reconnected it. When I asked if they could install it — even offering to pay — they said they don’t do that kind of service. What kind of dealer can’t install a dashcam? That’s ridiculous. Unfortunately, Ford’s reputation is being dragged down by such a bad dealership. I don’t know how their sales department is, but their maintenance department is horrible, and I will never use their...
