I had never been to this salon before this experience, so I called ahead to see if they could soak off my acrylics and get a manicure that afternoon. When I went in and asked for a soak off and manicure, a man took me right away and kept asking if I wanted a pedicure or gel manicure, and I kept saying no. He started by filing off the polish and then PEELING OFF MY ACRYLIC NAILS. I was dumbfounded, and he did it so fast my nail beds looked terrible!! I asked him to not peel the other hand's nails off, and he just filed them down. Then, in about 5 minutes, he painted my nails TERRIBLY. Please see the photos attached. He completely rushed, not putting any oil on my nails, not letting the first coat dry, and painting two sloppy coats of color. He then rushed me over to the dryer and said he would come back to do top coat. I sat there and a minute later I turned around and he had taken another woman, so he rushed me off to get another client. Then about 5 minutes later while getting a warm towel for the woman (which I never got), he painted one of my hand's top coat, then walked back with the hot towel to the woman. A couple minutes later, he snuck back to me and painted another top coat. This place was busy but not crowded; there was no reason why he had to rush me off. So when I go to pay, I wanted to complain to the manager. I told the man that the guy who did my nails peeled them off, and he did a bad job painting them. He fought with me, saying that is how they take off acrylic nails and I told him it literally hurt and it's bad for your nails. He offered me $5 off and I said that I was not going to pay for the soaking, since they did not soak off my nails. I told him "He just peeled off my nails and then painted them... I could've done that" and he responded "Then why didn't you?" After arguing with him for a few minutes, he angrily said he would just charge me for the manicure. I shouldn't have paid because my nails looked TERRIBLE. The workers are so rude and terrible at their job, and all they care about it money. I was in the salon for a total of 20 MINUTES for a soaking and a manicure, and when I left there was still filing dust on my fingers because he didn't actually do a manicure!! That is ridiculous!! I was not treated with the same respect everyone else there was receiving; save your money and go literally...
Read moreI’ve been coming to Parlin Nails for awhile now. Though precovid pandemic, I did vow to look somewhere else. Staff are friendly but the quality of work are the same, I always get the gel mani and it never fails, that there are smudges left on my skin that they don’t simply clean. Now, when the announcement was made that nail salons can open, I didn’t jump on making the appointment. After a few weeks, finally made that appointment and I have a few concerns. Partitions are great, protecting the staff and customer. Asked to use the hand sanitizer and I obliged, but no alcohol smell at all. I was ushered to the empty chair at the pedicure station there were 3 other customers already and I asked the gentleman If the seats were disinfected. He said yes and I took his word for it. A few minutes later, I saw this young woman without mask casually walked in started a conversation with the employees. She sat on his station and stood up took a mask and walked back to her station and placed the mask in her drawer. It was concerning. The lady on my left was done with her pedicure and she went to the manicure station now. Then the unmask woman, went to sit on the chair that was just unoccupied. I was finished with my pedicure and now I headed to the manicure station by the wall next to the lady who was on my left. Before I could even sit, I had to clear out the are because 3 chairs were blocking my way, plus there was a box of supplies on the floor. Just tried to observe how are they going to disinfect the area that I just left, the answer was no disinfection happened. No wiping down of the chairs and.the arm rest. The unmask lady still sitting there oblivious to her surroundings. I walk towards and he and said “I’m sorry, but all of us here are wearing a mask and you’re not”. She was caught off guard stood up and walked towards the back. No disinfection is happening. A new client walked in and sat on that chair. I’m not here to badmouth this nail salon, but there are guidelines that needed to be followed by both employees and customers. There’s on place for complacency. You still need to be vigilant on how you can keep you salon clean and safe for everyone. I saw the Barbicide certification on the wall, “what does this certification do? Or is it some certification that you need to obtain so...
Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I went in for a manicure and a pedicure which I had booked 3 weeks prior. There was absolutely NO COVID safty measurements put in place. I sat down for my manicure & there was stuff there from the previous customer. The girl doing my manicure and pedicure made zero effort to let feet or hands soak in order to soften skin to clean them up. Not to mention that the water was ICE COLD, after mentioning something it was MAYBE raised to luke warm which was also changed with an attitude. My entire manicure process was less then 5 mins and I was told that I had to clean under my own nails and scrub them in the sink????? Everything was so rushed and unprofessional, the hot towels were cold, all my nails had bubbles in them, my toe nail had a brush particle in it that she sealed with top coat, the list is endless. I was so fed up with the whole experience I just didn’t even care to say anything anymore I just wanted to be done with it and leave. I voiced my concerns to the owner prior to leaving and there wasn’t much of a reaction, I didn’t challenge it because I didn’t want to cause a scene. Oh and the best part is the owner tried to make me download Venmo so that I could pay that way, constantly trying to sway me into paying for the service that I didn’t even think deserved to be paid for. So i called to voice my concern and explain that I was very unhappy with the service and it was one of the worst experiences and he just brushed it off, not giving the slightest care in the world. This was my first manicure in a year and it’s so sad to say this was the experience I had. LASTLY, I noticed that the management copies and pastes the same exact responses to people who have left reviews. I would actually appreciate a...
