Royal Bakery — Restaurant in Sayreville

Was passing through during the evening and saw this bakery, decided to give it a try since I had to bring in pastries/cookies for my coworkers in the morning. Worst bakery I've ever been to. From the moment I walked in, I could see that it was a bad idea since there was barely any selection at all. They had only a few assortment of cookies and cannolis.

Despite the lack of display, I decided to give the cannolis and 7-layer/rainbow cookies a try (usually safe options) because you know, never judge a book by its cover. To say that I was disappointed in the cannolis would be an understatement. Instead of the usual ricotta filling, it was filled with some sweet sugary icing mixture! Took one bite and didn't even bother finishing the rest. As for the 7-layer/rainbow cookies, they tasted dry, slightly stale. However, they at least tasted like what they are supposed to, unlike...

I am not from New Jersey, but made a promise that I would stop here and put in a review. Very recently, I needed to send a tray of cookies to a friend for a memorial service. I am not from NJ so I did not know where to call to have a platter made up and delivered. I decided to give this bakery a try. I spoke to a very nice woman on the phone and explained what I needed and was looking for..without hesitation she offered her help to me and even went out of her way. As it turns out it was the owner, Jennifer (who I don't know and have not met). She was kind, compassionate, and was very willing to go out of her way. I would definitely make a trip to her bakery..the customer service was like no other, and the cookies which were at the memorial were beautiful and deliciously homemade. ...

I visit this bakery when I'm buying sweets for coworkers. I've tried some of they're baked goods as well and they're are an excellent bakery. My ONLY problem whenever I go is the service. I always deal with the same woman who seems to always have a poor disposition towards me whenever I shop in there. She never greets me, never thanks me for shopping at the bakery, always seems annoyed when I ask the UNLISTED prices of some items. Shes been like that since the first day of me shopping there.
