Scappoose Veteran's Park — Attraction in Scappoose

Scappoose Veterans is a great place to bring family, especially if you need a day outside. There is a creek that everyone can swim in. Two different playgrounds, one for bigger kids, and one for smaller kids. A dog park with a few obstacle courses. Plus if you want exercise, or a great place to walk, there is a sidewalk that loops around the whole park. Along the sidewalk are two baseball fields, restrooms, picnic benches (with shade), pokestops for you Pokemon Go'ers 😉, and most importantly the veterans memorial! Great family park with a creek running through and lots of open green space. There is a small playground with a covered picnic area (a second smaller covered picnic area is off on its own, a little way down the path). There are 2 baseball fields and public restrooms. The parking lot is small, but there is plenty of overflow parking across from the baseball fields as well as street parking. The most dangerous play structure I've ever seen or experienced is at this park.

My daughter had to go to the hospital (more than one visit) after slipping on the ropes that lead to the skinny slid. The straddle injury she recieved to her private area was horrifically painful, a complete nightmare. This structure just invites this type of injury.

I would not recommend this park to any parents. The design is...
