I live in Houston and I needed to locate a contractor in San Antonio to assist me with taking down drapes, and sheers from a double traverse rod with a pull cord. In addition, to a extremely large cornice board. These items belonged to my Aunt who recently passed away. This is a extremely sentimental project and I needed a contractor who cares about quality and meeting customers expectations.

I have never owned custom drapes and did not know what direction to take. Jim with River City Window Fashions patiently listened to my needs and expectations. He explained that he could and would help and personally make me 2 custom boxes to support my cornice boards to prevent damage during transport. I was “very”impressive with his interest in the details of my project and protecting my Aunt’s drapes.

On project day he arrives with a vacuum and a hose prepared to clean the drapes, take them down, and make custom boxes. Wow! His attention to detail with folding my drapes and sheers and wrapping everything in plastic and placing my hardware in a plastic Ziplock bag meant everything. He represented that he cared in every part of my project. He went a step further and placed all the items in the vehicle to ensure a safe move. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that prior to leaving he repaired holes in the wall created by the hardware.

I’m extremely pleased with my service and asked for a business card. I would highly recommend River City Window Fashions.

A very pleased “out of town”...

I can’t tell you how thrilled we are with the entire experience with River City Window Fashions! To start we did three estimates when they came back River City was in the middle as far as price, but was definitely at the TOP with the experience I received when Jim came to my house. We could tell that he wasn’t just trying to get a sale and that he truly wanted what was best for our house, Jim spent a lot of time, ensuring that our final product was going to be exactly what we needed. With the other two companies it was all about the upsale and I read lots of reviews about problems with installation and follow up. River City Fashions did not have that issue. That was one of the reasons we chose them. When it came time to install the blinds which came quickly. I was so impressed with the quality of the materials and with the installation! We will update this review or port another with pictures once we have finished decorating our new owner’s suite - can’t wait! River City, Fashions and Jim, you have made our dream suite come true and we can’t wait to do the rest of the house when renovations are complete!!!

UPDATE (Oct 24) - we compared our electric bill to the year before putting in the blinds and WOW! We have saved about 10% and the blinds were the only change. Also even though the east facing blinds get full sun, they are as true to color as the day installed -- no loss of color! Really love these, only regret is not putting the electronic risers in our bredroom bay window. Once we furnished the room, we have to move the chaise lounge to get to 2 of the shades, but...

River City Window Fashions is your TO GO place, don’t even look elsewhere because you not going to get what you are looking for 😄 From very beginning Jim is very detailed, easy to communicate (just speak your mind) learned a lot through this process! Also this is Family Owned Business not a “Chain of stores with rude and pushy people” just saying 😉 We specifically looked for Blackout shades, always hated lights on the side of the windows, we finally found a solution- NORMAN Soluna shades, you going to get a 100% blackout, you can pick a design, texture and a color of shades, motorized or manual 💁🏻‍♀️ (it’s amazing) Ruben who installed our shades is awesome!

I added some pics of before and after just to help someone else in decision and look of blackout Norman shades. Master bedroom and very wide kids room window, which few companies told us we can’t have a one solid full channel on the kids room, that would had to be like 3 separate and there is no blackout afterwards…well Jim made that super easy with one channel, smooth!
