My husband & I went to the IHOP off 3009 last Sunday at ~11:30AM. I know-I know... That was not exactly a good time to go for two people who strongly dislike waiting for a table. Nonetheless, we had been craving their coffee and pancakes and so we went.
We were told that it would be 15-20 minutes before we were seated. It turned out to be a little shy of 10 minutes. I liked that in addition to the PA broadcasting names outside (We never heard it in the dining room) they had staff come out for those that missed their name being called (Not us - The PA was clear but the large family happily chatting away several feet from us had missed it).
Our waitress was "Pookie" and she was AWESOME. Just the exact right combination of friendly yet professional. As stated before, we were craving their coffee and she made sure that we had an ample supply (2 pots total) of that delicious substance and plenty of cream. She also checked in frequently even if it was just too tell us that the food would out momentarily (We actually hadn't been waiting that long).
The delicious food (Served hot!) was prepared per our specifications. Ok-Ok, MY specifications... I'm one of those people that orders things like extra crispy hash browns and French toast on its own plate because I don't like syrup in my eggs. Usually I also ask for extra butter but since I apparantly have have high cholesterol I didn't this time. Yes, I know about eggs, pancakes & French toast but it was a cheat meal and I HAD been diligent for the 6 weeks prior - I DID hand off the bacon & sausage to my husband so don't judge.
There WAS one thing that I SORTA complained about. I had used the ladies room before we were seated and the room was immaculate. I used it again during the meal (LOTS of coffee) and it was in the same condition. After eating however (While we were up at the register to pay), I used it once more and in one of the stalls, well... Let's just say some people (Kids?) are disgusting. Seriously, would they do that at home? I really hope not. In any case, I whispered to the hostess and in less than a minute some poor employee was going in with cleaning supplies. I actually count THAT part of our IHOP dining experience as a positive since the staff responded immediately to the situation.
In short, I highly recommend the IHOP of 3009, the food (And coffee) and it's...
Read moreThis is the second time I have visited this IHOP. The last time was more than 10 years ago. I was taking a class in Schertz for work. At lunchtime someone had suggested IHOP. We all went. (10 - 12people). It took forever to get seated. Then it took fir ever to get our orders in. So long that our lunch time was over. We were told they were short handed and our food was not ready. We complained to the manager, he said "Sorry". We left, without lunch. Today, happened to be close by after a doctor visit. Let's give it a try. 3-5 minutes before someone took our name , said waiting for table cleaning, waited another 3-5 minutes. On the way we asked for a table rather than a booth, our waitress/hostess was told by someone else, we could not be seated there. Took us to another table of two family tables and two four person tables. One family table occupied by approx 8 people. Everything else open. We took a table for four.(wobbly) waitress brought us one menu, had to ask for another one, and ordered coffee. Hot a second menu, did not see waitress for another 5 plus minutes. In the mean time two other families were seated in the same section. All within arms reach of each other, section is full. As I look around in front of me there are 6 booths at the front window (1 occupied) in the middle there are six tables (non occupied, 2 dirty, 2 others with cleaning materials), on the left side there are 5 booths (2 occupied). I could not see seating availability on the irger side. Finally ordered food, asked for extra napkins, SALSA and a side of bacon. I ordered a build your own Omelet, with ham, cheese, mushrooms, bell peppers and tomatoes. With a side of hash browns. The food arrived, my omelet was cold, the ham, mushrooms, bell peppers and tomatoes were sprinkled all over the top. NOTHING inside the omelet. Hash browns were a 4 inch square block of overdone (on the top) potatoes. Had to ask again for extra napkins and salsa. Napkins arrived, asked again for salsa, salsa arrived, had to ask for salt and Pepper. The eggs were bland the hash browns were under cooked except for that part on top. Too. Bad, they had their chance. I will NEVER revisit that IHOP. The family table behind us never did get completely cleaned off before we left. This is not a fluke. Read a couple of reviews. Whomever owns this place...
Read moreTerrible service today. I did an online order at 9:30am. Told us that it would be ready by 9:50am. When I arrived at 10:00 I stood in line and waited for my turn. When I was next in line the lady asked me what I needed. I told her that I had an online order. She told me that I needed to wait in the other line where people were paying. I told her that my order was already paid for and that all she needed to do was grab my order. She insisted that I needed to wait in the other line. THERE IS NO SIGN STATING WHICH LINE TO WAIT IN FOR TO GO ORDERS. So I go to the back of the 2nd line where people are waiting to pay for their meals. When I get up to the front of the line, the lady tells me that my order is not ready. At this point it's 10:15. I wait patiently sitting in the waiting area. During that time, 3 other people were complaining about the online and call in order process and how it was highly inaccurate. One guy got half his order and had to wait another 30 minutes.... By the time he got his other half of the order his food was cold. One lady had called in an order, stopped by 30 minutes later and they didn't even have her order in the system. Then they bring out my order, but without my drinks. I told the lady at the counter that I needed my drinks. She asked another waitress to get my coffee and sweet tea. I waited 22 minutes for my drinks. At that time my food was cold. I didn't complain, because I knew they were having a bad day and they looked severely short staffed. And also the manager was being confronted by 2 other angry customers. When I got home, I didn't have any creamer for the coffee, No syrup for my pancakes, and my eggs were over easy instead of scrambled. I had also ordered a New York Cheese Cake pancakes order, and they weren't even in the bag. Essentially I paid for something that I didn't get. This was an overall terrible experience today and they didn't even seem that busy. Everyone in the waiting area were completely upset because some people were getting skipped in line. It was then that I found out that it was the manager that sent me to the 2nd line. It's obvious that the manager doesn't care about customer service. She was the Hispanic lady that was wearing a red shirt, no name tag, hooped earrings. It was just a huge disaster and a...
