Sky Top Picnic Area Watchung Reservation — Attraction in Scotch Plains

Very nice and quiet location away from the riff raff. The picnic area is completely covered for great shade and protection from the weather. Parking is permitted along the road and not in the picnic area. Portable restrooms are near the picnic area. A permit from the township is required. Two picnic grills are in the area. Eight large rectangular picnic tables are in the picnic area with seven under the canopy and one in the grass area. Nearby hiking trails adjoin the picnic area. Nice location for an outdoor. No power or running water is provided in the picnic area so bring a generator and gallons of water as necessary. When it rains due to the way they have the slab the covered area takes a bit of water. Was here with my family and it started to rain fairly bad. Before we could leave the floor had a bit of water. The area in general is nice with a grill and lots of open field and beautiful trees. Available to rent for an event if needed found that cool. Also a big open field next to it that looks great for football or soccer in the summer...

Not crowded. Have about picnic tables plus a gazebo type covered structure. Grills are provided if you choose to use them. Grounds are kept clean..there's a porta.pottie for use. Lots of parking....
