I have been here twice. I like going here with the kids because the trails are easy and the lookouts or places of interest are spread out so you get some nice walks in between. The fall is nice and so is the bridge. The overlook tree house is closed. The playground was decent size and had things for kids of all ages. I am always surprised how few people are here.the first time I thought it was a fluke but the second time was the same deal. Not a lot of people.

Nice place to hike or picnic anytime other than the winter, but watch out for flies! Lots of space for parking. Has a different trails to the falls, with atleast one of them being an easy one. Has a nice lookout tower.

I grew up living just across the Harrison Avenue Bridge and this place—in those rather more dangerous times long before the delineated trails, railings, map stands and overlooks—was a favorite childhood haunt. After being away for over 30 years I recently returned to see how current reality matched up with distant memory. Of course I remember the falls as being much taller (because to a 6th grader they would be), but wow. Hard to fathom that this little slice of natural wonder is less than 2/3rds of a mile from my family home.

This remains a stunning urban oasis whose only potential negative is the crowds made possible by the efforts at accessibility. Try to go on a weekday or don’t let a little rain scare you off and, while it’s still unlikely you’ll have the place to yourself, it will be more peaceful an experience than you’re likely to find on a sunny Sunday. Just don’t swim there.

As tempting as that prospect may be it’s illegal, and for good reason. There have been many incidents of severe injuries and fatalities to swimmers (and worse, divers) over the years. And assessable though it may now be, if you go with smaller children keep them close. It’s a gorge, after all, complete with sudden drop-offs to steep pitches that are often disguised by overgrown vegetation. Stick to the marked trails which, even today, are challenging enough for a...

I visited for the first on Wednesday June 11th 2025. I thought the trails leading to the falls were challenging so I did not chance it and never saw any waterfalls. I've been to Niagara and Yosemite so I think I didn't miss much here. Get a drone if you want pictures of the falls here if the park...
