At low tide yesterday morning my trailer went over a 12" drop off at ramp 2. The trailer frame resting on the pavement above the drop-off now. No signs anywhere posted about low tide warnings. Luckily the trailer was empty. I put my vehicle in 4 low backed up 2 " and gunned it forward to try to get my tires up the 12" barrier. The trailer lurched and jumped up and somehow cleared. A guy watching the whole thing said he's seen axles broken there doing just what I did. No warning signs anywhere and it's broken axles in the past. Sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen, if it hasn't already. Out of the 4 launch spots yesterday at low tide, only one was operational. The 3 others were harmful to use. This launch allows access to multiple great fishing locations found in Marine zone 10 or M10. You can target king, coho, and sockeye just outside the launch while dropping crab pots Jeff head and The Oil Docks are to the north and West point is to the South. The shelf along Indianola is due west. Large clean public bathrooms are on site that are open most hours of day. It also has a fast food restaurant, Coney Island, at the location with great shakes and delicious burgers that are stupid over priced. Very low tides such as those you'll see in June will expose the end of the concrete pour, and there is a 10"+ drop to the sand here, so could make pulling up boat trailer and boat a little tricky during spring low tides.
