Had to edit the review because the one below is several years old. When we went it was always at night. It was full of families and couples walking around the square, older people would sit by the fountain, it felt safe. Over the last few months we've noticed fewer and fewer people now. We don't go as much and I never go alone, it doesn't feel safe anymore. There's been a trend lately of cars pulling up close and a person jumps out to ask for money or a ride somewhere. Usually you say no and they take off to the next person but a few times they've stayed to argue. We had a guy come out from the side of a building, walk up close, and ask what time it was (he was wearing a watch and had a phone sticking out of his pocket, why did he need to ask what time it was?) there's been times when two people who didn't appear to know each other were hanging around in different spots, then one would whistle and they'd both leave and you'd see them meet up a block down. It's a little unnerving, you have no idea if the people are harmless or not.
Previous review: Love this place, especially at night. We go walking there every evening. The christmas lights are on year round and the fountain has those color changing lights in it that are pleasant to watch. The Square at night is transformed. The darkness covers the flaws and the soft light makes everything...
Read moreThird Thursday of Month event! Central Park awesome as always. Plenty of park benches to sit at. Just really wish there were more food trucks. Although not complaining about our choice...TNT DOGS!!!! 🔥🔥🔥 Explosively fantastic. I had the Sherman without onions...the bun was amazing, the dog was amazing. The young man who served us was wearing an awesome vintage Whataburger/TRex shirt and had great customer service "for his age"! Also enjoyed visiting the shops, although I wish the new downtown restaurants would have been open but more a one menu item to "taste the goods" Man son lost his only key and TNT stayed and helped look for key and the great little community that Seguin is helped also. (It was at Gift...
Read moreDelightful afternoon in the sun. Reminiscent of Chicago's song "Saturday in the Park". People were strolling hand in hand as my mother and I shopped and admired the Christmas trees entered in the contest. We stopped and admired the Juan Seguin statue mounted atop a pedestal that details the highlights in this great man's life. The fountain added a soft melody to the warm December afternoon. It was one of those moments in time that you hope you will never forget as the holiday season ends and the usual hectic life resumes. Thank you, citizens of Seguin, for providing such a charming park. Your hard work and dedication is...
