We were very dissapointed to have booked this place. We found out we were positive with COVID and were experiencing severe symptoms with pneumonia. We tried to change the booking date to a much later date within hours after booking but Jim and Erin rejected our request with lame/cold excuses. They were rude and lacked customer service skills. We have stayed at many places around the world and never had experienced such a bad service. What a dissappointment! We had plans in recording a documentary of our stay at this hotel to share with our subscribers on YouTube but it didn't work out. It didn't work out because they did not want to... so it will definitely be in our list of Places NOT To Stay At. We do not recommend this place! EDITED The owners have the audacity to say my review was dishonest. I uploaded a photo as proof that we attempted at rebooking our stay within hours. We also notified them we had COVID and they said we would never be exposed to anyone. What business tells customers they are liars? BAD BUSINESSES. What a disappointment. I think this is my first bad review I leave for a business. How unfortunate this happened because we were genuinely very excited about this place... how unfortunate we got sick and one of my nieces was hospitalized with pneumonia. How unfortunate the owners didn't care... and it's not about the money, it's about how unfortunate our booking experience was with this place. And to be called dishonest? How...
Read moreI was reluctant to do this tour because I am a scaredy cat. I decided to go anyway because of the rich history of the hotel. I was hoping nothing paranormal would happen but boy was that a lost hope! I was okay (for the most part) with the flickering chandelier lights and various aromas of the spirits. I started getting scared when we were upstairs, and I felt a breeze on my leg. There were no windows open and no AC in the room where it happened. It had a VERY strong floral scent that was almost nauseating. We moved to other rooms when a commotion occurred out in the hallway. The door to the pink bathroom shut by itself! Someone with the biggest cajónes ever opened it back up! Afterwards, a tall shadow man was seen by a few guests, peeking around the corner. A guy on our tour got a great picture of it! (I am looking forward to it being posted soon). That really freaked me out and I thought about running out of there, screaming my head off but Erin's calming demeanor kept me in check. Erin and Jim were amazing hosts. They are so knowledgeable about the history of the hotel, Seguin and New Braunfels that you would be remiss to pass up the opportunity to visit the Haunted Magnolia Hotel. Good luck...
Read moreAfter what seems like forever of waiting to snatch a spot on the guided tour, my wish came true! My husband, 2 teens and I enjoyed ourselves immensely. Erin was an amazing guide and is truly an enchanting story teller. Erin and Jim were both gracious hosts and the love and care they have poured into restoring this treasure is apparent in each creaking floorboard. If you are even remotely interested in the history of the area or the paranormal, you won't be disappointed! Now my kids-who were just "eh" about going along-can't wait to find a date to...
