I've enjoyed casino and poker room experiences before at places such as Treasure Island and Running Aces, but had never visited here until recently. I just happened to be in the area for a few hours and stopped by to satisfy my curiosity. And honestly, I wasn't impressed. Sure, there are things about Canterbury Park that are clearly very good, but my first impression was that this place is trying so hard to be some kind of Vegas-type poker room, it felt a little grubby and unfriendly. Given that this is such a popular haunt for many poker players, they onviously know their target market extremely well, but I did not see a single person who looked like they were actually enjoying the experience. Miserable faces throughout, as the soul-sucking atmosphere emptied the wallets of folks who didn't seem to be having any fun whatsoever. I put my name on the board, intending to play, but the dark energy I felt swirling around every table was more than enough to change my mind. I spent less than an hour here. And that was about one hour too long. I do see plenty of plus points. I do understand why others like going here. Not for me, though. I'd rather have...

Canterbury Park truly outdid itself hosting Theory of a Deadman. I recently caught their show there, and what an experience it was. The venue really felt alive, creating the perfect backdrop for a band that knows how to command a stage. From the moment the music started, the energy was just electric. The sound quality was spot-on, letting every riff and vocal hit just right, which isn't always a given at outdoor shows. The band, of course, was incredible – they sounded fantastic and really engaged the crowd. It was clear everyone there, myself included, was having a genuinely great time. Beyond the music, Canterbury Park itself handled the event smoothly. Getting in and finding our spot was easy, and the overall atmosphere was just really welcoming. It’s always a good sign when a venue can manage a big crowd without a hitch, making the whole evening feel relaxed and enjoyable. This show was a perfect example of Canterbury Park stepping up as a great spot for live music. If they keep bringing in acts like Theory of a Deadman and maintaining this level of experience, I’ll definitely be back for more. It was a fantastic night all...

Great place to be for "Having fun like no other" place! Live horse racing during racing seasons, of course, and simulcast with the rest of the world or at least the U.S., Casino games with jackpots and a poker room also with Bad Beat Jackpots and other daily promotions like "Aces Crack", High Hand of the hour and other promotions after 10 pm like "Straight Flush" board Jackpots and so on throughout the 24 hour period. Porker tournaments are almost daily. That's probably better than most in the U.S.. with the BEST dealers, floor supervisors, and pit bosses in the Midwest! Laid back and enjoy the entertainment. There's also other venues, such as music concerts from all eras, junk bonanza, weiner dog races, snow crosses, and skijoring and many, many more. Check the website out for upcoming schedules or events. What happens here will stay here in MN! Pick your memories. Long unscheduled/delayed flights or take a short drive south of the river and in your own backyard for entertainment? Note: This isn't a casino but a race track with 24-hour casino games and a poker room with limit and spread games. Stop by and visit! It's always...

07/22/2018 Canterbury Park was fortunate enough to host the final stop of the incredible music festival, the 2018 Vans Warped Tour Final Full Cross Country Tour. The festival featured many of my favorite bands like: 3OH!3, As It Is, Asking Alexandria, Assuming We Survive, Broadside, Capstan, Chase Atlantic, Chelsea Grin, Crown the Empire, Dayseeker, Deez Nuts, Doll Skin, Don Broco, Every Time I Die, Farewell Winters, Four Year Strong, Grayscale, Harm’s Way, Ice Nine Kills, In Hearts Wake, Issues, Knuckle Puck, Kublai Kahn, Less Than Jake Lighterburns, Makeout, Mayday Parade, Motionless In White, Movements, My Children MyBride, Nekrogoblikon, Palaye Royale, Real, Friends, Reel Big Fish, Sharptooth, Simple Plan, Sleep On It, State Champs, Story Untold, The Amity Affliction, The Maine, This Wild Life, Tonight Alive, Trash Boat, TWIZTID, Unearth, Wage War, Waterparks, We The Kings, and With Confidence. But I was especially psyched for The Interrupters! It was an exceptional set of bands and a GREAT crowd. Thank you for the years of Greatness Warped Tour! And thank you Canterbury Park for hosting the festival beautifully!

My husband and I really enjoy Canterbury Race Track, in Shakopee, MN. I'd give it 5 stars if they still allowed you to bring your picnic items in. On very hot days, we drink a lot of water & buying it there, cost an arm & a leg. I only have 2 each of those. I don't get hungry on hot days, but when I do get hungry, food cost even more. But this place is so much fun, we just try to budget the best we can to include it. Entry cost went up a couple $ either this year, or last year, but it's still affordable entertainment, except for the food & drinks. Canterbury is great at promotional features; Bull dog, wiener dog, exotic animals competitions. They have "Buck Night," wine and beer tasting days, live music some days & nights, free hot dog days, etc. There is a play place for kids and special family days. If you register for their race card, free, they send you updates, bulletins, calendars, free tickets, etc, plus you get discounts, free racing programs, etc. Great place!
