I’ve had four different pizzas here so far for takeout. I think that this place does a very good job of creating flavor profiles and running with it.
For instance, the hot honey in the Parma pizza is not overdone, and complements the sort of tangy flavor of both the ham and the cheese.
Likewise, the truffle pizza is not just a taste of truffle—it has a clear mushroom theme that is not dominated by truffle, and the onion serves as a nice foil to balance the mushroomy flavor.
The crust is also really nice. I appreciate the coloring on the bottom, which adds a lot of smoky flavor. The crust also doesn’t flop around even though it’s thin, which I appreciate. Likewise, the breadstick was also very tasty end of the same caliber as the crust (though, of course a bit thicker).
Currently, there are many promotions being run for ordering online and on certain times/days of the week. For the quality offered, the price-quality ratio of these pizzas a steal with the promotions. I highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area.
Edit: having tried most of the menu now, I think that the “strange” combinations are the most worthwhile to order. While the red sauce pizzas are by no means bad (they are quite good actually), how many places can you get a carbonara or dill pickle pizza at? These are not gimmicks, but very good offerings that...
Read moreI wasn't sure what to expect because I had never been to an OG Pizza. It's an odd duck, in my mind.
First, not a word was spoken by the staff. No one said anything to us at all. There is a single Kiosk to order from, and when you have completed your selections, the system tells you to swipe, chip or tap, but doesn't tell you where to tap your card, I am accustomed to doing that on the screen. I determined you have to tap your card on the top of the box on top of the kiosk. If you want a receipt, you can ask for one but it doesn't get printed at the kiosk...so I figured it came with the pizza. Then I heard someone say "Who wants a receipt?" I said, I wanted a receipt, and he handed it to me and walked away.
This pizza is good. Not average by any stretch. But you better want what they serve. No additions, and they will *try to accommodate removing items. Water is bottled only, no tap water, and not many beverage selections.
Price was ok, food was good, atmosphere, I am sure, is fine for some, I didn't enjoy it at all. It's pretty far from my home, and we wanted to try it. There are options with pizza as good, better atmosphere, that are the same price, and...
Read moreGreat casual spot, fun decor and excellent service. Now, what about the pizza? Big warning here: I’m from the CT shoreline and grew up with New Haven pizza. That’s my benchmark, that’s my kind of pizza. I got the OG, because I wanted the pure experience. It was a great pizza! It’s got a little less bubbly crust and a little less chew than what I get in CT, but let’s not quibble here. The sauce, crust and texture are really good. It just tastes “right”! Hubby had the hellraiser and son had the carbonara. There’s too much going on with the carbonara for me, but that is a matter of personal taste. My only wish is that I could order a custom pizza because sausage and onion is my favorite. However, the business model makes sense here with set options that keep things moving fast. That’s the beauty of that super hot oven - fast and hot pizza where the cheese can burn the top of your mouth if you’re not careful. Ha! Now does anyone know where I can get some Foxon Park White Birch Beer? That would make my childhood memory Friday pizza nights complete! All that being said, this is a slice of home right here in...
