I always have mixed feelings about this place here is why:
The baby back ribs are amazing! They season the fries perfectly; however, the cornbread muffins are a bit of a miss. Over all good food.
So the food by it's self can stand on its own it is pretty good; however, here is the catch: The building looks a bit neglected. Several times I came in during the summer the AC has been broken (I feel bad for the employees that have to work in the kitchen). There are open electrical junction boxes open on the west side of the building with wires exposed to the elements. How much does a cover cost? The walls have been chipped and the trim work in some area's could have used a bit more care. Some of the booths have seen better days and they have some very wobbly tables. The front door for as long as i have known has always had one of the doors out of service, I am not sure what is wrong with it but it seems to me that it should have been fixed by now. I can get over all of that though.
However, the place needs a deep clean. The black ties on both ends of the salad bar have a greedy feel, in front of the salad bar you can remove caked on grease with your finger nail. The glass surface on top of the sneeze guard has clearly not been cleaned in months, dust everywhere. Cobwebs hang from light to light above the salad bar. There are white cutting boards in the back of the salad bar that look a bit dirty as well
Last time I was there it was just passed the lunch rush, there was 1 table with 2 individuals sitting in the dining area. With a group of 3 that was about to have a seat. There were no less then 11 tables that had not even been cleared.
So in summary the place has good food, but the owners/management need to invest more money back in the business, get some fresh paint, and fix some rather minor repairs. But more over they need to do a deep cleaning and management needs to keep on the staff to make sure the place gets cleaned correctly...
Read moreWe had Mr Pig Stuff for our wedding about a month ago. Don’t get me wrong the food was amazing but the person ahead of the catering was awful. It all started from the beginning. From the start we had a hard time even connecting with them to cater our wedding. Then we get to our big day…. The head of the catering was honestly harassing us for almost two hours (this was after we paid). He harassed my decorator, the owner of the venue, mother of the bride and us (bride and groom)….. I’m a manager and I take the word harassed very seriously…. He would follow us around the venues farm place while we were getting our pictures taken. I had wedding guests coming up to us saying ‘’I don’t know what he wants but it’s like he’s out for blood.’’ Honestly we are really disappointed because when we talk to people that we haven’t seen since our wedding day, they bring up the ‘’angry caterer’’ and that’s what they remember and that’s what the took out of our special day. I did contact a manager and he said that somebody (I believe the owners) will be calling us. I have not received a phone call at all to discuss this further. We finally connected with him in the middle of our pictures/video and all’s he wanted was a tip. We did then give him a cash tip (very nice one, which we shouldn’t have looking back). We thought gratuity was added onto our final payment but apparently it wasn’t. He could have called us the following day asking if there was something wrong instead of harassing us and our wedding guests. I know a lot of my guests said that they will never do business with them ever and I have even talked a lot of my friends who will be getting married out of catering with...
Read moreI was recommended this place when I was talking about how Baker's Ribs was my favorite in the area. I will say this place is very good, and not over priced. Their coleslaw was fantastic, but wasn't a fan of the potato salad (Baker's potato salad is addictive and my favorite) .
The major takeaway I got tho, and maybe it's not always like this, but the ribs were very tender and delicious but they just immediately all fall off the bone. I don't see that as a good thing. I like to be able to eat the meat off the bone without it all falling off immediately and needing a fork. I cut the ribs with a knife and immediately the first rib all the meat fell off just picking it up. I know so many people think "fall off the bone" is a good thing so I assume (if I'm wrong please correct me owners) they intend to cook it that way, but it should stick to it enough to be able to take bites off the bone.
I intend to go back to try other options there tho because it was overall better than average and I am just being critical because I am looking for the BEST in the metro. It's just hard to beat the $10 4 rib lunch special at baker's ribs that is also a quick...
