What a great experience I had during my recent new car purchase, over at Herb Chambers Lexus of Sharon. I have purchased many vehicles from numerous dealers over the years, but this is the first time working with Lexus of Sharon. The staff here is top notch and certainly goes well above expectations on customer service. From the moment you walk into the beautiful showroom, to the moment you exit, you feel like a truly valued customer. Always greeted with a smile and being attended to. This was by far, the easiest and smoothest car buying experience I have had, and I am eager to share, so hopefully others can experience the same.
I had the pleasure of working directly with their sales consultant John Voong who right from the start, welcomed me to the dealership and sat down with me to go over my needs, as I shopped for a new car. John, was tremendous to work with, providing me with all the information I needed to make an informed decision. John has a very positive attitude, and you can tell he truly values the customer with his engaging “customer first” experience that he provides. I felt very comfortable with him as he was very transparent and up front with the information provided throughout the process. He went above and beyond as he walked me through all the new car features and new technology.
Once John and I landed on a car that checked all of the right boxes, we sat down and looked at the numbers. He walked me through the math, with a straightforward and concise breakdown that was easy to understand. During the final negotiations and purchasing discussions, I had the opportunity to meet with Lenny Goldwasser (GSM) who was super informative, high energy and extremely personal. Lenny enhanced the car buying experience for me as he followed the process right through the end with personal touchpoints, ensuring I was receiving nothing but the best service & experience. I couldn’t Thank Lenny enough for how great he and his team was to work with.
Furthermore, during the financing & paperwork process, I had the great opportunity to meet & work with Jerry Dao, who was very informative and walked me through the terms at a great pace and did a fantastic job in explaining all criteria of the agreement in an efficient manner. Jerry also provided me very informative alternate options to purchase, without any hidden sales tactics or high-pressure to buy. Jerry was very friendly and a delight to work with.

After over a year of car shopping through many dealers, I decided to reach out to this location with the intention of driving off lot same day. Sydney and Madison (Sales Managers) were so friendly, organized and wasted no time setting me up with an appointment, making sure the specific model/color I was looking for was on lot and available and ensuring I had all information prior to arriving to the dealer. Upon arrival, Sydney introduced me to Nick Pacheco who briefed me on the car options available and immediately brought a car round for me to drive. I’ve been to many dealers where it’s a hassle to just get behind the wheel, let alone enjoy the experience as they are trying to ensure a sale by tagging along on the drive. This was different. Nick gave us free rein and told us to enjoy the drive and take our time! As soon as we finished our drive and came back, we were sold!
Now for the deal: everyone’s favorite part of buying a car. Nick was very honest with me about many aspects of the purchase process and he walked me through it all with ease. I was trading in my 2014 Corolla and was looking for a specific price given the low mileage, state the car was in and based on prior offers I had just a month prior. This is where Andrew comes in! Andrew, one of the managers, allowed us to have a discussion about trade in value and ultimately bargained with us for a very fair and reasonable price. No games, no dishonesty, no going back and forth a hundred times. It was such a smooth process. Once finalized, we met with Giovanni to discuss financials. Gio is so knowledgeable and honest! He took time to explain different payment plans, interest rates, packages available and all steps needed to be taken to ensure a successful purchase. We settled on a customized package based on my own history/car usage and ensured I was happy with everything included. These guys were the best! Finally, we met with Ryan who went over required car service and maintenance and he wasted no time scheduling my first service appointment!
When it came to getting my car, Nick surprised me with a huge bow and a lovely sign recognizing my contribution to healthcare during this pandemic! The absolute sweetest gesture! They also wasted no time helping me move items out of my Corolla and into my new RX350 despite all wearing nice suits!! Simply amazing and kind of them!
Overall, this was an amazing experience! The team at Lexus of Sharon is outstanding! I am so excited to be part of their family and look forward to working with them...
Read moreI have to share what was ultimately a blessing in disguise but an absolutely horrible sales experience at this dealership.
I apologize in advance for the length of this review but the context is important. Perhaps this was an isolated experience, given the relatively positive nature of the reviews posted here, but a fair warning for those who believe in that both the value of a purchase and the experience provided matter and make a difference, especially for repeat customers, where an experience beyond a rushed and pressured transaction affects the buying decision.
My father had purchased 3 Lexus vehicles previously from this dealership with nothing but an exemplary experience from all sides of the organization. We came to the dealership with some final questions regarding trade-ins and finance options, ready to make a purchase, and were greeted rudely, immediately pressured into a decision with plenty of double talk, interruptions, tired tactics, and such an underlying lack of respect for my fathers previous purchases we respectfully declined the purchase and walked out.
Of course 10 minutes later we were called by a “manager” who claimed we were the rude ones and onward and so forth. At the end of the conversation he claimed he got the deal the “way we wanted”, of course a miracle at the last moment, and so on.
Thankfully, we called another dealership nearby with a similar vehicle that same day, and they were so accommodating, friendly, engaging, and even in the last hours of a month-end close never passed on any anxiety/stress/pressure, and we will move forward with them this weekend. That is what a luxury car experience should be, and what a multiple purchase owner deserves.
At the end of the day, we understand this is a transaction, the dealer has commitments and numbers to hit, and it can be a frenetic and stressful period with multiple deals at once and an expiring clock.
All that said, I would recommend moving forward it might be a good idea to understand, respect your customers and treat them better, especially repeat customers who have demonstrated value to your business over a 20 year period and hoped to have a celebratory day with his son and grandson that was ruined.
I fully expect a response from the dealership with a different “side of the story” as an attempt to protect your reputation and your business, but I would simply say the experience matters, repeat business matters, and you lost a longtime customer today as well as a sale for no other reason than you should have...
