Maurices — Attraction in Shawano

Hate it. The only good thing about this place is that they have the only decent 'new' clothing in comparison to other places in Shawano. Clothes can be overpriced and too flimsy/delicate for their price.

I don't know if they push their workers to bombard you at the door when you first come in but it is literally the reason I HATE going there. I get that you're trying to be courteous but I've had times where 3 of their employee's have approached me with their ‘deals speech’. I've had them interrupt me when they can clearly see I'm talking on the phone or to another person and when I say interrupt, I mean interrupt. Or where they constantly ask you if they can start you a dressing room. I’ve even had it where they picked out clothes for me (without me asking) and said they thought it would ‘look great on me’. Not trying to be a jerk but I don’t care about how YOU think I look. I’ve had some women who literally follow me around the store asking if I like certain items. Best advice to them is to give their customers some space.

Bought something then changed my mind. Took it back the next day. Paid with cash and had my receipt. The salesperson said she could not give me a cash refund because the store was low on cash. She suggested I pick something else out equivalent to what I had paid. When I said I didn’t want to do that she said they only give refunds on charged items. I told her there was no signage in the store stating that and the receipt did not state that either. She finally gave me back my cash. I will never shop...

The clothing is very cheaply made, the jewelry turns your skin green, and the prices are outrageous when compared to the quality. Maurices pushes loyalty and credit cards too, which is a huge detourant. Store in general has a very 90's feel to it and...
