El Tequila — Restaurant in Shawano

El Tequila gives you a lot of bang for your buck, especially considering that flavors are banging as well. The combination dinners are an excellent value because they fill up a large plate. They also give out, pour your own, salsa with the complimentary chips. The tasty white cheese sauce is a mere dollar add-on too. The staff is friendly and quick. Plus, there is a great fun energy throughout. A colleague mentioned that the rice was noteworthy, but I was a bit dubious. I stand corrected, and I am just glad my mom couldn't go because that rice could make a person feel a little slappy. I kid, but I seriously need more rice next time. On visit number two, I had the molcajete. It is a cornucopia of piping hot goodness, but it's probably too much for just any mere mortal. Seriously, you'll have leftovers unless you share it, but the leftovers were succulent the next day too. The large margarita is just as sizable....

I moved here from California and for over a year, I sought out for tolerable mexican food. El Tequilas is HANDS DOWN my favorite authentic mexican restaurant in nothern Wisconsin. I dont even have to look at the menu when I call them. If its authentic, modified, what have you, THEY CAN MAKE IT. And GOOD af!

I commute between Green Bay and Appleton, while my beautiful gf lives in Shawano. El Tequilas is my go to every time I'm in town.

My daughter and I were in town for an event and decided to try this place for dinner. They looked immensely busy for it being after regular dinner time, but the staff was incredibly friendly and prompt. When we got to our table, our server greeted us and my 11 year-old told him she could speak Spanish, and seemed happy to engage her. The rest of the evening he spoke with both of us in Spanish! The food was absolutely delicious. She and I both cleaned our plates! wonderful place!...
