This place false advertising for Free Comic Book Day! They pressure you into donating money, which isn't a big deal. I donated to charity, the food bank, school, library, SPCA & many other organizations all the time! But when you advertised free comic books for kids on free comic book day, then it's free for the kids. It's not like they're losing money, those comics are shipped to them so they can give it out to kids for free on that one day. They said a $1 for each comic, WTH? So technically you're paying for the comic book that is supposed to be free. We recently moved to the area & their store was 15 minutes away versus Bedrock City Comic where our old house was. We love Bedrock City Comic, on FCBD each kid get 5 comic books. I'll rather take the 35+ minutes drive to Bedrock City Comic & support them! My kids love comic & anime, on FCBD we go to get the kids free comic books & then I let my kids each pick 5 comic/anime books. We normally never leave the store without spending over $100!!!! My husband is a big Marvel fan & I would buy the newest comic that's out or a recommendation from the staff.
This year we walked out not spending a penny at Space Cadets! Their staff attitude was horrible as well! Very rude & treated customer like they're stupid. Hello?! The event is call Free Comic Book Day for a reason!!!! Shame on them for pressuring customers to donate & how do we know where the money are going to? Many business claimed it's for this organization & that charity but we all heard on the news, people used things like that to take advantage of others. It's good to do charity work but it's not ok to pressure people into paying for something that's supposed to be free. I'll gladly buy comic books, anime books, games & figures for my kids but I don't like how they falsely advertise something that was supposed to be a free event for kid, a fun day for kid & encouraging them to read! That's what FCBD is about!!! My kids was very sad & disappointed. It was late therefore we just went home. The next day I took my kids to Bedrock City Comic as I promised them they could pick out some books due to what happened on FCBD.
Their store might be big with lot of comics collection but I will never waste my time going there again. Would rather support Bedrock City Comic, at least they know how to treat their customer. Been going to them for the past 10 years! It was a mistake to try anywhere else! I'm sure there are other comic store that's nice with good customer service. Just not Space Cadets Collection!!!!! The experience my family got from them was very unprofessional, they might pick & chose their customers. I just know the 3 staffs (2 females & a male) I spoke to was very rude & pushy!
If you read their 1 š reviews, I wasn't the only customer that their staffs was rude to!! If you want to buy books, this might be your place, but if you're looking to sell or take your kids for FCBD, then this definitely isn't the place! Save your time &...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYou ever walk into a place and immediately question every life decision that led you to not be here sooner? Thatās Space Cadets Comic Collections. Itās like stepping into the pop culture multiverse ā one part comic shop, one part museum, one part childhood dreamscape, and zero parts disappointment.
Theyāve got comics, sure ā stacks of āem from every era that ever mattered. Golden Age? Got it. Silver and Bronze? Please, this place practically invented the alloy system. But then you turn your head and BAM ā movie merch everywhere. Pilot suit from Pacific Rim greets you at the door like itās casually waiting for its next Kaiju fight. And just when you think youāre done nerding out? Thorās hammer shows up like, āHey. You worthy?ā (Youāre not, but itās nice to pretend.)
Donāt even get me started on the collectibles. Stickers, toys, art, sci-fi gear, superhero gear, fantasy gear ā basically, if itās cool and once existed in a comic panel or a galaxy far, far away, itās probably sitting on a shelf here waiting for you to impulse buy it.
And the staff? Super friendly. The kind of people who wonāt judge you for spending 30 minutes debating which variant cover has the most āemotional value.ā
Bottom line: Space Cadets is a shrine to everything awesome. Bring your wallet. Bring your inner 12-year-old. And maybe bring a cart ā because youāre going to leave with more than...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreShort Review Huge selection, friendly and Helpful staff, great vibes, reasonable prices. My go-to LCS. Highly recommend!
Long version:
Iāve been coming here since January 2024 when I started my journey into comics. I went to several LCS within reasonable driving distance from Conroe to Willowbrook and Space Cadets by far had the most variety. But that wasnāt the only thing that made me chose them as my go to LCS, itās the employees and the vibe! Iāve never had a bad experience here, everyone is nice they try to help even if what you are asking isnāt something they may be familiar with.
Iāve never NOT felt welcome here.
I would like to also point out Liam who is always a joy to chat with and always welcoming, all the employees here have been great, but Liamās vibes and attitude are just A+.
This will be MY go-to LCS for the foreseeable future and...
