I wanted to go someplace really different with my love. It had to have a cool atmosphere, live music ... mind you this was on on Valentine's day. I wanted it to be someplace romantic and fun, edgy and stylish at the same time... Yet still laid back and relaxing ... I went In a search the day before Valentines. I stumbled across this place called, The missing Link. Naturally, I searched to see if they had an event scheduled for Valentine's day ... and what do you know ... there was!! I quickly went to their Facebook page and noticed that there was live music and great food and the atmosphere, seemed even more amazing and just what I was looking for!! Once we arrived, I would have never imagined just how much so.
It was perfect ... I didn't even feel like I was in Louisiana or Shreveport anymore. I felt like I was in some stylish City far away from Louisiana and time seemed to just stop there. The music was amazing ... I mean, the singer was phenomenal ... he covered some amazing music, that everyone seemed to know. The drinks were made to perfection... The food was even more amazing!!! You think, "a hot dog" but it's like this gourmet hot dog, with different crazy toppings ... that you wouldn't even think to add on top of a hot dog.
Hands down ...the best restaurant in Shreveport bossier!!
I love it so much, I almost don't want this great review to overcroud the place, and it's not so chill and perfect anymore. But I must rave their...
Read moreThis is a great spot if you're looking for quality taste and experience. They offer 100% beef links, 100% alligator and pork links that are all gluten and dairy free. They DO NOT offer an allergy-friendly menu. However, I brought my own gluten-free bread and lactose-free cheese. They were able to combine my ingredients with their own to make a dish that was appropriate for me to ingest. Now, they do have custom-made soda, I did not ask about their allergen information related to beverages. They have tea beverages as well.
I ordered the cheddar bacon dog on one occasion and the Cajun dog on another occasion. I drink lemon water, which they offer. Both orders were completely gluten and lactose-free. They have chips and those are gluten-free.
Their staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and their ingredients. They showed great pride in their food and customer service. The restaurant was clean, professional, timely, and included a bar. They have a dimly lit area in the back and a well-lit area in the front. There is also an outdoor area. The moment you walk up to the front doors, you will smell how wonderful the food is. Their hours are from 11:00 till 2:00 and from 5: 30 till 9:00. I don't like coming to navigate around their hours but it works for the restaurant. I believe they are one of the golden nuggets of the area for a hot dog lover. Have in mind, these are not just hot dogs, they're of high...
Read moreWhen you first walk in to The Missing Link, you're immediately treated to some cool industrial interior design. The inside of this place is strikingly fashionable and unexpectedly expansive. Characterized by the light fixtures, comedic and cool charicature wall canvases, industrial scales, pulleys, and other tidbits, even on my first entry to the restaraunt I realized this is one of the best looking restaurants in the SBC. I mention how awesome it looks because The Missing Link provides style to go along with its substantially good food from the moment you walk in, which takes a restaurant to another level in my opinion. The Missing Link carries Stubborn Sodas rather than your typical Coke/Pepsi fair, so you're able to fill your cup up with delicious flavors like Agave Vanilla Cream Soda and Lemon Berry Acai from the cool, lever operated dispenser. The menu is full of punnily-named weiners who all sound delicious, but for our trip my boyfriend and I selected The Cajun and The Gordon Mckernan specifically. My Mckernan was piled high with tomatos, onions, and cilantro and was a wonderfully garden fresh tasting sausage, not a flavor combination I'm used to from hot dog focused offerings. We also got a side of ettoufe fries that were also scrumptious, and all three things we ordered are pictured below. I highly recommend this spot for lunch or dinner, and look forward to coming back to...
