Fine golf course doubling as a cross country ski opportunity. But definitely not among the best options.
The good - quiet (though below might explain why), beautiful scenery, mostly accurate green/blue designations (didn't venture to the black).
The not so good- Groomer's work definitely needs improving. Classic tracks (supposedly freshly laid the morning of) were pretty rough in spots - (1) somehow stopping & restarting with only one of the tracks aligned (i.e., left track becomes right track) in multiple places, (2) others where the outside edge isn't groomed at all so skiing in track means your right pole hits really deep/soft snow mounds, (3) several spots where tracks are on steep side slopes, making it nearly impossible to stay in them.
Their advertised soup bar for lunch didn't exist (was told it hasn't happened for 3 years, and they seemed surprised I would suggest they may want to update their website to exclude that then).
I'll likely prioritize the other options on my punch pass instead of returning here in the...
Read moreThe rental part was awesome with friendly staff. Great place for beginners. The only reason for the 4 stars is the lady in the cafe. My daughter and I came in for lunch and waited for anyone to explain how the soup bar operated. I only wanted a small bowl of soup as I wasn’t hungry and didn’t really want to pay $14 for 1 bowl. Some other customers said you just get your own bowl and pay afterwards so I got 1/2 bowl. After only taking 2 small steps the worker finally appeared and asked if we wanted the all you can eat or just 1 bowl (nowhere was this on the signage). I asked if since I had only filled my bowl 1/2 full could I fill it up and just do the bowl. The glare she directed at me could have melted steel. It was so mean my daughter and I both moved our chairs back! So I ended up paying $14 for basically one bowl of soup (which was good). She also put our water glasses down with more force than necessary after the above question. So just know you CAN get a bowl of soup and don’t mess with...
Read moreNice place! We went there to do some tubing with the kids, and also did some cross country skiing there. Snowshoeing was available as well. Staff was extremely friendly - very nice people - attentive, polite, accommodating! 4 stars because there was no automatic lift for the tubing, the lines for the equipment rental were a bit long, and the space where we had to rent seemed crowded - probably because it was a weekend. The cross country ski trail we took was great and well maintained except for the one spot. There was no snow at that spot, and it was right after an icy mini-hill, so that was very dangerous for a dilettante skier like me. Otherwise - great trails, great people working there. We were supposed to return equipment by 5 pm, were 30 minutes late, and the employees were waiting for us, and did not charge us any late fees. The place is great for tubing with kids, cross country skiing and...
