Currently, the 19th century metal truss bridge is blocked off with cones and about to undergo some construction; the construction started in October 2023 and is planned to go through summer 2024. Normally, there were flowers on the bridge, hence the name. People book weddings, anniversaries, and photoshoots on it by reaching out to the town of Simsbury. It's a popular landmark in town.
The bridge was built in 1892 over the Farmington River as a one lane bridge for vehicles. In 1996, they made it into a flower bridge; there were 32 hanging baskets, 72 flower boxes, 14 column baskets, and cottage gardens, on the bridge, when it is open. This was all maintained by volunteers; there is a donation box on the bridge to help fund this. The park connected to the bridge is beautiful, with landscaping and picnic tables.

If you like to take pictures of flowers this is a good place to stop in season. I'd give it 5 stars, but it's a little bit too small to be an actual destination, but worth it if you're driving by and have...
