Just off the Iron Horse Trail, worth a rest stop on your walk or ride. Lovely in-ground plantings as well as the hanging planters and baskets. Water fountain, portapotty, tables & benches, shade shelter. Also access to river bank. If you cross the bridge, use extreme caution walking on Riverside Road, no sidewalks or wide shoulders to protect pedestrians.

Absolutely beautiful 😍 We were driving past and it caught our eyes, so we had to stop. So glad we did. Just a lovely little footbridge that is sure to brighten your day 😍

This a small peaceful park with a foot bridge over the Farmington River, aptly named Flower Bridge. There are picnic tables and a porta potty.

Currently, the 19th century metal truss bridge is blocked off with cones and about to undergo some construction; the construction started in October 2023 and is planned to go through summer 2024. Normally, there were flowers on the bridge, hence the name. People book weddings, anniversaries, and photoshoots on it by reaching out to the town of Simsbury. It's a popular landmark in town.

The bridge was built in 1892 over the Farmington River as a one lane bridge for vehicles. In 1996, they made it into a flower bridge; there were 32 hanging baskets, 72 flower boxes, 14 column baskets, and cottage gardens, on the bridge, when it is open. This was all maintained by volunteers; there is a donation box on the bridge to help fund this. The park connected to the bridge is beautiful, with landscaping and picnic tables.

I'm sure this bridge is even more beautiful when in full bloom, based on the description and pictures I've seen. My current rating is for the Bridge present day (May 2024). I can't wait to see what it's like when they are done with the construction and when the flowers are on it; will come back to...

This is a quaint little place to stop for a few minutes, or maybe to have a quick bite if you bought something at the plaza around the corner. The bridge is decorated with lots of flowers, and although it's not a destination necessarily because it's so small, it's worthwhile to spend a few minutes here on a nice day. If you like to take pictures of flowers this is a good place to stop in season. I'd give it 5 stars, but it's a little bit too small to be an actual destination, but worth it if you're driving by and have...

Absolutely a beautiful and moving experience. If you're in the area of Simsbury, Connecticut during Spring and Summer check out this beautiful bridge and it's Memorial for those who have passed and for bringing happy wishes to everyone who stops by. Great for get togethers and picnics. What a beautiful place for a small wedding venue too. Thank you to the caretakers of the Drake Hill...
