Maple Tree Cafe — Restaurant in Simsbury

Twenty dollars for poached eggs and medium well steak. You can see the eggs are clearly not poached, they're totally hard boiled (without a shell). Mother's day special?! Took forty five minutes for kids' meals to arrive, with half of our meals, another ten for the rest of the meals. My daughter had to watch her cousins eat while she sat there hungry (because the kitchen can't deliver food so at once?), another five for syrup. The"steak" is about five or six ounces BEFORE cooking. The medium well was a charcoal brick. The menu claimed fresh fruit and pastry with each, but the waitress claims simply, "No pastry!" Sorry, I asked about your menu. But it was busy! Nope... Not until we'd been here for an hour. This place needs to either not do this, or do it right. My wife, the MOTHER of my kids, on MOTHER'S day for A MOTHER'S day brunch, didn't get her whole order. Repeatedly asked for her bacon. Perhaps the waitress will simply answer, "No bacon!" Doesn't matter... Waitress is missing in action.

I wouldn't even call this place a dive bar. Stay away. McDonald's would be better. (I wouldn't actually know, I don't eat at McDonald's, but I'd assume they'd get the order right.)

Update, hour and a half after we ordered, a half hour after we got food, when everybody was leaving, SHE GOT HER BACON!!! It was super greasy, smashed together. Totally unappetizing. That's the third picture. That's bacon. I swear.

Another update, someone in my party asked about the pastries as well, to which (I'm assuming) the manager responded, "we crossed off all the menus, you must have gotten one we missed."

What a joke. I have had better 24...

What a wonderful local place. Lisa is super knowledgeable, hospitable and gives amazing service. The menu is revamped, so many eclectic options. It's the best restaurant if you're not sure what you're in the mood for and want to be pleasantly surprised.. The quality of food is super good. I am single and it's also a comfortable place to go by yourself. No one bothers you. In fact there are a couple little boothettes, perfect if you want to read your book or just be private. There's a regular, local crowd at the bar. They're friendly, cool, connected among one another. Wednesdays, open mic is awesome fun Avec Talent!!! This place is absolutely wonderful. Entertainment, food, service, price ..best in the area.. I'm a foodie -- and this is the best there is in the Simsbury / Granby area if you want to experience all the elements of a great dining experience. I should start a blog so I can prove it to you. What horrible service!! At 7pm we were turned away by a rude,snotty waitress/hostess who asked us if we had reservations. We did not. "I guess we could seat you in the banquet area"., with an eyeroll...There were tables open, and it wasn't very busy. We had no reservations, so planned on grabbing a drink at the bar and waiting for a table, like normal establishments. The banquet area was basically tables with employees belongings and the bands equipment storage... Lol...with that poor business sense, it's amazing the place was so busy. I again asked another equally snotty waitress about a table in the main area. She actually said, "we're not taking names for tables, most of these people will be here all night"!? Are you absolutely joking?????!!! This place used to be special to me, as my fiance and I reconnected at this very establishment. I will never set foot in there...
