Veterans Park — Attraction in Smithsburg

Beautiful park in Smithsburg Maryland. It has two large pavilions with many picnic tables. Also there is an outdoor basketball court with several hoops. There are two playground that are perfect for toddlers. The mile long track is more of a cross country type setting with many turns and elevations that offer people different exercise stations along the way like sit-ups, chin-ups and balance beam jay to name a couple. This is a really nice park close to the Smithsburg Library in Smithsburg, it wraps around the library and is roughly less that 2 miles to complete. It has great walking trails, a small wooded area for birding, and of course the play area for the children. It also has BBQ grills and pavilions for eating at or to just get out of the sun.

I take our dogs to this park to use the one mile paved walking trail. Dogs must be leashed. Pet waste collection bags are available on different portions of the trail. Exercise stations are positioned along the trail as well. There is a basketball court for use, playgrounds and two covered pavilions. This park has plenty of parking for visitors.
