I visited this store on the evening of December 20, 2024, heading to the checkout lane around 9:51 PM. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling uncomfortable, disrespected, and unwelcome as a Black woman.
While shopping, I noticed a Caucasian male employee repeatedly staring at me, which initially made me feel uneasy. I began avoiding the aisles he was in to shop in peace, but he continued to draw unnecessary attention. At one point, he approached me to ask if I was the driver of a Camaro parked outside. I immediately felt racially profiled, as the question had no relevance to my shopping experience.
I asked him why he wanted to know, stating that his inquiry was intrusive. Instead of apologizing or stepping back, he continued to press, saying he had a āfriend who drives the same car.ā I told him directly that his behavior was making me uncomfortable and disrespecting my boundaries, yet he persisted, ignoring my clear discomfort.
The Latinx manager, who was heavyset, eventually sent the employee to the back. While that was a step in the right direction, when I expressed to her how unprofessional it was for him to keep asking about my car despite me clearly stating my discomfort, she dismissed my concerns. She said, āHe didnāt mean it that way.ā However, that response completely overlooked the core issue: I had already told him his behavior was intrusive, and he continued to push, showing blatant disregard for my boundaries.
Shopping is stressful enough for Black women without the added burden of being scrutinized or watched. When an employee stares, approaches with irrelevant questions, and persists after being told their actions are unwelcome, it creates an unsafe and hostile environment. The managerās excuse for his behavior and lack of meaningful accountability only exacerbated the issue.
This incident reflects a lack of training on respecting customer boundaries and an insensitivity to racial dynamics. I felt racially profiled, and the interaction reinforced the broader exhaustion Black women face in spaces where we should feel neutral and safe.

Me being a disabled person, has trouble getting down the isles without these carts but when you need a specific item and these carts are in it makes it impossible for me to get what I need. I actually had to ask a stranger if the minded getting the item for me. Not cool at all. I am constantly telling the clerks this and am told that they just don't have the help. Well that's not an excuse in my book and after my visit last night I'm firstly calling my attorney to talk to him regarding a discrimination suit against them through the people's with disabilities act. This could very well be a class action suit! I'm not an attorney so I don't know. I do know that I Will not go back into this store and ask all people to do the same.
