I wasn’t very impressed with the playground at La Colonia Park, but my son was mesmerized while watching the skate borders do tricks at the skate park. In 1887, the first home was built in the community and it now stands on the premises of this park as a part of the Solana Beach heritage museum. It’s only open 2 days a month so be sure to do some research if you want a tour. 📍712 Stevens Ave, Solana Beach, CA 92075 🚙Free parking in lot off Valley Ave or free parallel street parking on Stevens Ave 💰This park is free 🎠The play structure has a sand/mulch ground surface. There are no swings at the playground 🚽Restrooms 🧺Multiple picnic tables 🍔Charcoal grills 🖼Large lawn 🪑Cement amphitheater-style seating by the lawn 🌳Shady trees 🚲Paved sidewalk around the perimeter of the lawn that would be perfect for small bikes, scooters, or a stroller jog 🛹Skate park 🏀One basketball court

It's nice you can do a lot of different activities here. We shot the basketball, kicked a soccer ball and then played pickleball. The only negative is the electric bikes on the sidewalks and basketball court. It was a bit scary at times for us old folks.

Fun little skatepark. Gets crowded very quickly, but I haven't seen more than 10 people there at any given time, but that's still a lot.

La Colonia Park... How was it? Well that depends on what time period you are asking about... There was a time when you wouldn't want to take little Braxton or Peggy-Sue to 'La Colonia Eden Gardens', Period; Let alone to the park in the middle of it all... However, You would find Lil Enrique, Or Lil Maria playing in the park... Regardless of the Illicit activity that was going on around at the time... Just like it was some of the worst times, So it was also some of the best... It shaped my generation, at least me...( I don't like to speak for others...) into the strong minded person I am today.. So... How was La Colonia Park? (Sorry, My mind just went on it's own Lil journey in time...) It was great... Nice...

This is such a great community park. It has everything you'd want for a toddler and up. They also have a smaller section for 1 - to - 2 year olds, which is great for moms and nannies to take their kids to. I love that it doesn't have sand. It has recycled tires as the flooring and a well thought out park design. It has a huge grass area next to the park and a great skatepark nestled next to that. I highly recommend this park for any kids that need to get out and get the...
