FISH DISTRICT — Restaurant in Solana Beach

Not a good experience and not the first time. I ordered take out at the counter (fish & chips, combo box and a wrap), which was nearly $60. I specifically asked for 3 tartar sauces, 1 cocktail sauce, malt vinegar, and then I came back and asked for a spicy sauce, which they charged and I paid for. I waited for my order and when the employee handed me the bag, I specifically asked and he confirmed everything was there. When I arrived home, there were no sauces in the bag (NONE), so I called and asked if they would deliver it to my house (I live in Solana Beach) NOPE, but due to the inconvenience the employee said he would comp a meal if I wanted to come back and get the sauces. My family said the food needed the sauces, so despite my food getting cold and soggy, I drove back to Fish District to pick up the sauces, with the thought that as a consolation, I would get another meal to eat that was hot. NOPE. When I got there (15 minutes later) the guy I spoke with conveniently went on lunch and the new guy said “I can’t give you a comp meal, I’ll give something small.” REALLY. I got the sauces and ate a cold and soggy meal, and so did my family. I...

I was very excited at first to discover this place because it's literally the only thing to eat near work (except Panera and no thank you). However, the food is average and extremely overpriced. In addition, my orders are constantly wrong. I have both called in, used the online ordering system, and have ordered in person and every single time something is messed up. They either didn't follow the instructions for my requests to sub rice for quinoa, or it's an entirely incorrect meal, or they forget the sauce. Their bowls are so dry sauce is needed so when they forget it it is pretty awful. I try to catch their mistakes as much as possible but often times we're ordering as an office so I cannot double check the order before it's left but why should we have to anyway? We shouldn't have to double check an order every single time to make sure they get it right - just read the order instructions! Not that hard. Hopefully they can get their act together or another food place opens up in this shopping center so we can all move on from...

An awesome find after a nice hike. The place is clean and well kept, tables were regularly being wiped down to prepare for new customers. The options were plentiful and everyone found something on the menu that spoke to them. Everyone LOVED their food. It was so good. Chowder was amazing. Fries were goooood. Poke bowl and poke and chips were enjoyed by all. For the food alone it would be worth coming here. But my favorite part about visiting was getting to be helped by Christian. Never met him before but he took such good care of my family and friends, treated us all so kindly and helped us figure out the best options for what we wanted, ran the counter with ease during a busy lunch rush, and he and his team still had time to make sure the place was looking great. We walked out of there after our lunch and we all could not stop talking about how awesome Christian was. Will definitely come back for lunch...
