In the DC area, on the Maryland side of the Potomac, not many trails can match CCT. Volunteers have worked with and pushed the county to get good signage, safe passage, and the 100% inclusion of the trail alongside the new Purple Line tracks.
The trail provides tons of access, link between Silver Spring (restoral underway), Bethesda, Potomac River, and Georgetown - including many great neighborhoods in all directions. In normal times, with warmer weather the trail can get crowded. That's when the 15 mph speed limit is enforced with radar for safety.
