The pharmacy at this CVS is woefully understaffed and has been for years. I don't know if management is trying and failing to fix the situation or if they are just ignoring it. I often have to call or physically go into the store to get a prescription filled, otherwise it will remain in "in process" limbo for days. I don't understand why such a successful national brand can't automate more things at this point, or at least provide sufficient support to staff on the ground.
The problems I have with this location are especially frustrating during the pandemic, when I'd like to get prescriptions delivered to avoid unnecessary trips in public. The next closest cvs is in DC and won't deliver across state lines. I'm currently quarantining following contact with a symptomatic person who tested positive for COVID. I need a prescription currently "in process" yesterday. When I tried to call to ask them to actually fill the prescription so I could get it delivered, I couldn't even get a call through. The automated voice just said "I'm sorry" and that they couldn't reach the pharmacy at this time. At least tell me why I can't reach anyone at the store? I'd understand if this was a once or twice occurrence but I regular have to nag someone to get a prescription filled. Not an easy feat when the hold time to reach a human can be over 30 minutes on days when I can get through.
I don't know if any other pharmacies are doing better right now but you all gotta do something. The poor staff do their best but it's just a mess and they get the brunt of the customer anger. Management, please, hire more staff, streamline processes, raise wages, do something! And let us know if you're doing something, right now it seems like our concerns are...
Read moreThis is the absolute worst pharmacy on the face of the planet. I have been punishing myself and going to this location for years and every few months they figure out some new and innovative way of completely screwing up my prescription. From being unable to grasp the concept of correctly processing valid insurance information, to the old standby of "oh yeah, we haven't done that yet", going to this location is a miserable experience from beginning to end.
The CVS store itself is fine, as is CVS as a whole. I travel a lot for work and have been to numerous other CVS pharmacy locations across the country (as a direct result of this Sangamore location being completely unable to perform the most remedial of tasks) and have never had an issue. I have had to get my prescription filled in other cities multiple times because Sangamore just could not seem to manage the enormous task of performing their job successfully before I was to leave town.
I am absolutely convinced that this location has a stern prerequisite of pure and utter incompetence to even be considered for employment. I have finally come to my wits end with them and will be taking my business elsewhere. Avoid...
Read moreI honestly despise this CVS. They never ever have your prescription ready even if it’s called in over the phone, online, whatever. They will never have it ready for you. So, you have to wait in a long line just to ask if they have it ready (they won’t). Then, you have to wait 20-30 mins to get it — if you’re lucky. Today, they didn’t even have our prescription in stock. They never told us this even though we ordered a refill online yesterday - why not some kind of notification in the 24+hrs we gave them? It’s the worst run pharmacy I’ve ever experienced. The manager there is objectively terrible, so maybe that’s the problem. She is all over the place. She bad-mouths the people in the back to customers and points out all of the things she's doing to fix the things someone else apparently messed up, except she flits from issue to issue not really fixing anything to conclusion, and her people can hear her while they are obviously working the hardest they can (heads-down fully focused scurrying all around). (Note: customers don't care whose fault it is or who is fixing it, just that it's gets fixed!) I would hate working here. It’s a total disaster all...
