Crystal Lake Park — Attraction in South Carolina

Wonderful little walk. This little park has a lot to offer, from birds to alligators. The lake is picturesque and even offers the occasional fish jumping. We saw a Great Blue Heron and some finches but I am sure more birds visit this spot. Did not see any turtles but the signs about Alligators is correct as we saw a very large one out sunning. Green anoles will keep you company as the run along the boardwalk rails. Most of the c trail is boardwalk unless you go all the way around the lake so you and your pup can feel safe . A nice, short walk through some wilderness ends at a lake. Best to come here early in the morning or evening time. There are no playgrounds, no picnic benches & no distractions. Just nature. A small, man-made lake is infused with sea water to create a mix of waterlife. Alligators may also make an appearance, but the walkway is elevated from the ground. The scenery is nice, however it is not completely fenced in and it borders the school property, and there are a lot of unsavory characters that cut through the woods using shortcuts so sometimes when you're walking the path some big scary black guy will be coming out of the woods at you and will freak you the hell out just by beware I always carry defensive Weaponry on me but when somebody startles you because they're coming out of the woods you don't know if it's an alligator or somebody coming out of the woods to...
