Huddle House — Restaurant in South Carolina

I have eaten at this establishment many times and the food and service has always been good. Today was a nightmare. To make a long story short, I ordered my eggs over easy. When I got the eggs, the whites uncooked and clear. When I told the waitress that these eggs were raw still, her response was to try to give me an education on how over easy eggs have some raw egg whites and I should have ordered over medium. First of all, she is incorrect. Overeasy eggs have the eggs white fully cooked with a runny yolk. So after being told how I should order my eggs in front of everyone, I just told her that I didn’t want anything that it was fine. She then tried to lean over the table to get the menu to further try to give her loud and rude instructions on how I should have ordered my egg. She then continued to now loudly berate me on how I should’ve ordered my eggs, as well as tried to verbally force me to order over medium eggs and receive new food. So I loudly told her, miss I do not want anything, please, thank you and have a nice day. She continued to yell louder about how I should’ve ordered the eggs and I didn’t know what I was talking about. And I continued to just tell her please just leave and have a nice day. The whole restaurant watched this, as well as the manager. The manager spoke to her shortly and quietly and never said one word to me. Obviously the manager isn’t doing his job or he would have asked me what the issue was. I spent 25 years in restaurant management. And if that were my employee, she would’ve been fired on the spot. Really disappointed with the night staff. I arrived at 9:20 and was told that they were closing in 10(9:30). At the time of our arrival, there were two couples seated. One left while I was ordering and the other couple was just sitting and talking, no food or plates left at the table. Once our food arrived, my husband began to open his plate to eat. We were told it was too late to eat. My husband looked at the waitress and told her when the other couple, who was not eating, left he would leave. The waitress walked o we to the table with the Caucasian couple and stayed less than 30 seconds. My husband decided that we would just leave because it was obvious it was a problem. When we walked out, the waitress locked the door and let down the blinds. The Caucasian couple continued to sit at their goodness table even with the restaurant locked and closed. I waited outsiwasde until 9:50. The couple was still continuing their conversationinside the establishment when i pulled out the parking lot. I don't understand how we were told we couldn't eat inside but they can sit there and talk. It was a waste of money. The food was cold when we got home. I wish I had insisted on receiving a receipt when we paid...

The place felt damp and dirty and it smelt like a sour old mop!!! The food took FOREVER because they wouldn't stop talking and joking around! We had to ask them to just send it out as it was done. We had seen plates sitting on the line for a bit just getting cold. (We were served them cold and had to send them back and wait even longer). There were us, a guy at the bar, and a few regular guys drinking coffee and talking yet we still couldn't get refills, sauces, or someone's attention better yet! The only reason we stayed was because my daughter wanted HH for her birthday like we have always done for the past 10yrs.. unfortunately that may have to change!!!

YES.. We went back to give it one more try because the manager contacted me!! Monday morning 9 a.m. and the place was locked! Lights on but doors Locked!! No sign on the door.
