TDLR-
Pros- Great selection of comics, card games, board games, Warhammer, and especially miniatures and paints. Helpful, friendly staff. Local events. Great energy.
Cons- Kind of dingy and dirty. Chaotic shelves and lack of organization.
Full Review-
This is the place to come if you want basically any item you'd hope to find in a geek shop. They stock Magic, PokƩmon, Digimon and more when it comes to TCGs. They have a wall of comics. A bunch of shelves with advanced board games. And their one stop miniature section let's you grab most minis that you're gonna want or need for a current or future DnD session along with the paints to accompany it.
The staff here kills it as well. Anything you want, if they don't have it, they will get it. I love these guys whenever I call them up and they don't have something, it's immediately "sorry we don't have it, but I'll get it here for you in 3 days". They don't treat it like a hassle at all.
I haven't participated so I don't know which they have but I have seen groups playing events here.
Cons-
The store is dirty and feels kind of grimy when going in. I know how hard it is being a small business owner and time is a commodity but it definitely needs to be given a thorough scrubbing.
Organization is another sore point. Behind the counter is an eye sore to look at (once again, I understand that it's hard to get on top of new inventory and such with 1 or 2 people) but it still is rough to see. The miniatures can be kind of strewn about some of the times I've gone in.
All in all though, without a doubt this is the best game shop by a mile in the Charleston or even...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTo start, No one greeted me when I entered the shop. When I found it, their comic book section is extremely unorganized. As in, I asked if they had something, was told I would have to look in every box and they were serious. The guy working the front counter was more interested in sitting in the computer chair and playing on his phone then in helping me look for anything. I did look through several boxes and it looks like a lot of new comics, I'm not sure they even would have what I was looking for if I checked the rest. The first person I approached behind the counter didn't even work there. The shop is dinghy, dirty, and unkempt. They have a fairly adequate space for playing games if you're looking to play cards, table top, or board games. But there's only one restroom in the back area to use while you're there and it's equivalent to a bad...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStaff is less than helpful, their trade in and cash value on cards is pathetic if they will even want any and that's assuming there is even someone there that can make an offer. Their format support outside of standard is poor. The players are friendly but the same can't really be said for the staff, which if you try to contact them with a question about the shop won't even bother to respond. For anyone who reads this try geek culture games in Crosslanes next to pizza hut, better in litter...
