Riverfront Veterans Memorial Park — Attraction in South Daytona

This is a nice park along the river and all the fishing piers and boat launch are in good condition but the kids playground is in disrepair. The swing set has been completely removed instead of being repaired. The playground equipment that is left is missing a major piece the makes half of the equipment unusable for younger children. Instead of replacing the bridegroom they have chose to block it off.

UPDATE: the playground has been completely redone. They have a new swing set. This is a new park. I don't see as much of a homeless presence now during the day as there was before. I would give this place five stars but the playground is not friendly for children less than 6 which is a bummer, I grew up going to this park. It has a great calming atmosphere with plenty of benches and tables. Restrooms are sketchy but they’re there. A great pier to fish off of and a boat ramp for river access. Plus swings. Just remember the “ jungle gym” part of the playground is super high and unsafe for most children under about 6 years old.

Not much space for a walk or dog walking. Very minimal sidewalk in the actual park itself more of a walk to type of park instead of a walk around...

We love taking our dogs to Riverfront Veteran Memorial Park in South Daytona! 🐾 It’s perfect for walks—and for one of our pups, it’s prime “squirrel hunting” territory (he never gets close, but he sure tries 😄). The park isn’t huge, but it’s just the right size for some fresh air, sunshine, and exercise for the whole crew. There’s a boat ramp and a small dock for fishing or just soaking in the river views.
