Love the store but I may never buy here again. This is the reason for my one star review. I’ve spent thousands of dollars here first off. Last major purchase was the week of Thanksgiving. I bought a block set of Shun knives and a Shun serrated 12” brisket knife and some expensive sheers $650 for these items left the store spending almost $1,000 in total. Well, here we are about 2 months later and two of my knives have failed. One has a chunk out of the blade, the other one has a slight bend in the blade. I am aware that these knives have to be hand washed which I’ve always done. Here’s my issue, I called this store see if I could come in and exchange them. They would not except an exchange which is extremely frustrating especially after investing so much money on a product that lasted about two months.
Instead they referred me to the manufacturer. I called Shun and they can’t guarantee a replacement, or can’t guarantee a repair, or can’t guarantee a timeframe of “evaluation” so I have to send my knives in to Shun and in 8 to 10 weeks they will be able to evaluate the knives and determine if it’s a manufactures defect. So all in all I’m looking at about 2 to maybe 4 months before I get my knifes back with no guarantee if they are going to be repaired or replaced. FRUSTRATING!!
I’m very disappointed that Orson Gygi would make a customer jump through hoops to get a replacement and even more disappointing will not stand behind a product they sell. I was not asking for a refund I was asking for...

My husband and I were on our way to look at a job he was working on in Salt Lake and happened to be driving by and we pulled in the parking lot to check their hours as it was only 8:25 am. The posted hours are 9 am-10 pm. A kind gentleman that was working on the grounds saw us and told us to come on in. He let us know the store manager would be there any minute and we were welcome to do our shopping and then the manger would ring up our sale. He further went on to ask what I was shopping for and if I needed help finding anything before he went back out to the task he was working on!! Read moreI purchased 30 lbs of caramel, 3 days later i recieve and email it is on sale. i email back (6 times) to see if there is anything they will do, NO responce. I call, the guy answering the phone always says the person i need to talk to is busy "can i send you to their voicemail", there is never a returned call, he even said "i will walk it up to them", after 7 tries i finally got a responce and asked for a refund on the caramel that was mailed almost a month ago. They said they would refund my money. A week has passed and no refund, dont know why I'm supprised. After the call today to ask about the refund the same guy that always answers the phone told me they are busy ill have to send you to the voicemail. HaHa. Fat chance they will call back.
