I’m in town working so I decided that today would be a great day for soup and a sandwich. So I ordered Grubhub. The delivery was fast and the soup arrived piping hot. I love New England clam chowder and have had the occasion to partake in New England numerous times while eating lobster and the local seafare. This brings me to the clam chowder I had today. It was not the full rich creamy version of clam chowder I’ve had on both coasts. It was more a watered down potato soup with no hint of clams. I might have seen one or two of the canned varieties but, this wasn’t what I would call clam chowder. Much less New England clam chowder. The soup I got certainly didn’t resemble the pictures on the website. I have to admit I’m getting used to the cuisine in Utah it’s different than the rest of the country. Now for the BLTA I love a good bacon lettuce tomato sandwich I added avocado to this one. The sandwich was not what I would call a stellar sandwich but it was a decent sized and had a few pieces of bacon in it. The two thin tomato slices just didn’t do justice to the name of the sandwich. It did have plenty of shredded lettuce. All in all I tried this restaurant and there are many more out there which I will visit in this...
Read moreI am sooooo disappointed in this location. My uncle was part of runing this restaurant years ago, and the food was unbelievable. Since then, my family frequents often and I have recommended it countless times to various people. I called this location today (at 2:25), because I know their trend (which is constant disappointment), just to ensure they were open... because it is what I wanted on my birthday. The lady said they are closing because they ran out of food!! They show closing hrs 4:00 on the website!!! So typical. I stopped supporting this location. (And Soup Kitchen over all) because of the continued disappointing nature of how they allow the business to run. Mark- if you are still running the biz, you should really get ahold of how your team represents your brand. This is unacceptable. CONSTANTLY closing early, no longer roast fresh turkey’s (now processed meat), out of breadsticks all the time, out of sprouts, out of bread.... you are a restaurant with Comp Sales to help you plan accordingly. Such a disappointment!!! And even seeing the other disappointing comments people have posted, you clearly choose to...
Read moreI am so very sad writing this review as well as changing my rating from a five to a one. To be clear this was my favorite comfort food place since ~2008. However, this restaurant has really disappointed me atleast the last 8 to 10 times I've visited... yes, that long because I wanted to just believe they were having an off day and I believe in loyalty. Unfortunately the food has completely gone down hill. I always order the S.K.S with a bowl and a quart of the tomato soup. The sandwich was either served with old hard bread, too much mayo and basically no meat (small amount thrown into the middle), and too much old lettuce with soggy/fatty bacon. The tomato soup used to be the standard and now it always seems watered down with old dirty dish water and no flavor. And the breadsticks, wow, they use to be so good and now they serve dense, tasteless, flour lumps. I am sad to say I won't be returning. The sweet girls/ladies that work there are amazing and so so sweet and kind, I'll miss them but it isn't worth the 30 minute drive each way for...
