Edit - They have canceled my upcoming appointments for a couple months from now with a different massage therapist because I was ādissatisfied with their therapist and customer serviceā. Rating changed to 1 star to show my disappointment in their lack of professionalism. Edit 2/25- if you are heavily pregnant and have swelling or inflammation or carpal tunnel, be aware that your massage therapist may try to diagnose you with cardiomyopathy and stand in the hallway calling colleagues or friends to talk about you for 10 minutes while you wait in the massage room to hear the verdict. Sounds like a HIPAA violation, when thereās a client in the waiting room and who knows who else listening in. You even explain that you are in good health and have weekly monitoring with your healthcare provider for the pregnancy. Especially donāt hope for a relaxing pampering moment before your due date in less than a week. I would head elsewhere, especially somewhere that would call your own healthcare provider or trust when you say your swelling is completely normal for a healthy pregnancy. Chelsea didnāt even take a look at my hands. No, she offered to call a friend who is a midwife to make sure that what her EMT friend said was similar. She previously gave great massages, but a 39 week pregnant person obviously makes her too uncomfortable and maybe she shouldnāt be on the roster for prenatal massages. Some review of medical privacy and some education on normal pregnancy conditions would be beneficial. Also, you donāt speculate to a very pregnant person that giving them a massage could give them a heart attack! I obviously donāt recommend Chelsea because of my experience. But if youāre not pregnant and in perfect health, go for it. Good thing is there are plenty of other massage therapists there and thatās why the rating went from 5 stars to 3. Previous review: Great massages. I have had massages from 2 massage therapists and both were professional and attentive to my current body struggles. I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn the recommendation of a relative-client, I had my first 90-minute therapeutic full-body massage with Andrew Miller at Hand of the Heart Massage today and could not be more pleased!
My last provider massages were out-of-pocket, so were limited to 15-30 minutes. What a difference it has already made to have a full 90 minutes of insurance-covered massage at Hand of the Heart! I am 16 years past my back surgery and still require massage to aid lymphatic drainage, increase mobility, flexibility, range of motion and to reduce chronic pain and stress caused by pain.
Andrew was kind, easy to talk to, very responsive to my needs, and wholly appropriate. I felt comfortable and safe in his care and it directly met my needs for a first visit...enough that I have booked additional visits so we can specifically address painful areas going forward. He took the time to review and discuss my case medical history with me before he started, then provided massage directed toward my needs.
The office staff is outstanding as well, easy to talk to, well informed, helpful and really competent on dealing with insurance coverage and billings.
Thanks for a wonderful first session, Andrew and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEver engage a service that went so awesomely well, you couldn't wait to write a review? That's me, after today's session with Andrew at Hand of the Heart Massage. This, my first-ever massage, could not have been better! Andrew is a great and responsive listener, a consummate and caring professional, and put me at ease immediately with his great "vibe". I asked for a gentle, relaxing massage and he honed right in on that, exceeding all expectations. Wow! As I told him after, "I feel light and heavy at once" -- freed of stress and tension, yet "grounded". As soon as I finish this review, I'm booking another session with Andrew, this time for 90 instead of 60 minutes. Thanks, Andrew and Hand of the Heart Massage, for making my day a whole lot better!
Addendum: My second massage with Andrew at Hand of the Heart was as impressive as the first! He creates a safe space and is always the appropriate, caring professional. As someone with PTSD, it is sometimes difficult to form a trustful medical relationship quickly. Andrew easily cleared this high bar and HotH Massage continues to favorably impress. Thanks so much for great...
