This Is The WORST Rental Car Place In History. I Rented A Car From Them From 02/15/2019-03/05/2019! I Went Online Through Hotwire When I Started Renting With Them && Paid For Insurance With My Booking (( Which I Booked From 02/15/2019-02/19/2019 At First )). Once My Four Days Were Up, I Decided To Keep The Car Longer! When I Went Into the Office To Start Paying Weekly, I Was Charged $305 For Each Week With Their Insurance Included. The Rep Monae C. Told Me That That Rate Was With Full Coverage Insurance! I’ve Never Rented A Car Before Going Here , So I Assumed That Those Prices Weren’t Bad At All. Not Once Was I Told That Despite Me Coming Into Their Agency Personally To Keep Booking That I Will Also Have To Go Back Online To Keep Purchasing Insurance From The Company That I Had First Booked With On Hotwire! OK FAST FORWARD . . . . On 03/05/2019 Someone Hit My Rental Car && Kept Going ! I Went Through All Of The Proper Channels As Far As Making The Police Report , Calling Thrifty , Etc . My Plan Was To Keep Renting Through Them && The Police Report Even States That I Wasn’t At Fault For The Accident! When I Got Back To The Office They Took Their Keys && Told Me That I’m On The “ Do Not Rent List “. On Top Of That , They Told Me That I Will Have To Personally Pay For The Damages To The Vehicle Because I Was Only Paying For Liability Insurance (( Like Bh What ? )) ! Remind Y’all , This Was The Beginning Of March. They Said Thay KELLY Is The Only Person Who Handles This. So I Called Every Day (( Which I Documented && Took Screen Shots Of )) To Try To Speak To Kelly! Despite Me Leaving Numerous Voicemails For Her, Talking To The Manager JEFF Rude A* , Etc I Still Never Got Not One Call Returned. I Was Constantly Told That She’s Backed Up && When She Gets To My Case , She’ll Reach Out To Me! ON APRIL 1ST 2019 (( My Birthday )) I Got An Email From Allianz Global Stating That They Received My Claim That I Submitted To Cover Damages To My Rental Car . I NEVER EVEN DID A CLAIM! Like How Can KELLY Be So Backed Up , But She Made Sure She Put In A Insurance Claim For ME With All Of My Information To Get This Car Paid For! I Called Thrifty That Day, Still Nothing && I Still Haven’t Spoken To This Woman Not Once. ON MAY 1ST 2019 I Received An Email From Allianz Global Staying That My Claim Was Rejected! I Figured That Being That I Only Purchased 4 Days Of Insurance Through Those People , So Why Would She Even File A Claim With Them ? ? ? ? I Called Thrifty AGAIN && Guess What ? ? ? ? I Still Couldn’t Talk To Her Nor Was I Able To Talk To Jeff Because They Were So Busy Per Usual! ON MAY 16TH 2019 I Got An Email From ACM Staying That I Have To Pay $5,000 Damages For The Car. I Was At Work , So When I Got Off It Was Too Late To Speak With Anyone! I Decided To Call Around When I Got Up The Next Morning. ON MAY 17TH 2019 (( Which Is Today/The Next Morning)) I Called Thirfty First To Discuss This Matter! After Being On Hold && Given The Run Around For About 5 Minutes KELLY Gets On The Phone. While Discussing The Matter With Her && Explaining How I Would’ve Liked For Her To Returned My Calls Months Ago , She Tells Me To Call ACM! No Ma’am , You Are Who I Need To Speak To Because YOU Are Handling/Handled This Matter. She Proceeds To Tell Me That Its Nothing That She Can Help Me With Even After I Kept Telling Her That Their Rep Lied To Me About My Insurance Policy! I Disconnected The Call. I Called Right Back && Was Placed On Hold For 10 Minutes! I Hung Up , Called Right Back && Asked To Speak With Management Before Anything From The Rep Could Be Said. So JEFF Gets On The Phone , Immediately Cut Me Off In Mid Sentence && Placed Me On Hold! Now My Lawyer Will Most DEFINITELY Be Getting Involved. This Is Very Unprofessional && Complete BS! The Company Is Sh*tty , Like Seriously. I Have Money To Pay For The Car , But What Am I Paying For Again? I Asked That Rep Repeatedly Was The Insurance Full Coverage && She Repeatedly Told Me YES! I Own A Business && I Could’ve In Fact Paid The Extra Money If Needed For Full Coverage...
Read moreMy experience with THRIFTY ST LOUIS is really bad and made me feel afraid to rent cars at less known places. I rented with them on April 30-May 3. First, they don’t check the car with you. They just make you check the car yourself. Renting with Avis or Budget, they come to the car with you when you first get it and you will be presented a paper with all the past scratches. When we returned the car at the airport drop off (they just have a parking lot where you can drop the car after hours and the key in some mailbox. This is outside. No roof.), I looked around the car for any scratches we may have had before departing for the terminal to go back to Hawaii. I was confident nothing is wrong with the car and returned the key. So many things could go wrong in this parking lot. I think it is faulty that they just do this instead of having a 24/7 drop off where a staff can personally check it with customer before letting the customer go. Any damages can be pointed out and settled. For Thrifty nothing like this. So many can go wrong. From St Louis to my layover flight, I received a voicemail from Kelly stating there was a windshield damage from the Sienna we rented. She said she was claims department manager. I called her back. At least twice for three days since getting back. Making sure it was Missouri time during their work hours. It would always be her voicemail that answers. I left a message or two regarding her phone message. If i could get a clarification and pictures about what their claiming, I said on the message I would contact my insurance as soon as I get more info from her. Nothing, no answer, not a call back. I would be directed to front desk sometimes. I once spoke with a man working the front desk. I asked for Kelly. He said she’s not at her desk or she’s left for the day. Either one. I spoke to a few people who said either one of those. I asked him if he could relay to Kelly to send me pictures. He sounded a little irritated but I remained calm. I needed his help he said okay. No one got back at me. A few weeks passed. Thrifty sent an updated rental agreement/receipt stating a $155.00 charge for the windshield. This is so bad. I have never seen this windshield damage they are claiming. No official statement from them. Just a vague voicemail they left me. They never gotten back to me and now this?!? They will just charge me. Screw my customer rights, is that right Thrifty? How cruel is your company. I’m an average citizen. I am 24 year old, 2 years in the military service. I know so little about consumer rights. I have little resources to get a lawyer or something. But I know something is not right here. You can take that $155 but I will never rent from a thrifty company again. I hope many people read this and don’t...
Read moreBrenda was the person who checked me in 2/26/21 @appx 6:30am and we had a discussion about the fact I and my husband were driving to San Antonio, TX to see my mom after this snowstorm, plus we talked the day before. She even explained how it's usually against policy for the name on my Driver's license (Jessica L Wiley) to be different from the credit card on file(Jessica L Smith) due to fraud, but because of her tenor and title, she had the ability to push it through. Today I returned the rental and to my surprise I was told by Brenda that my credit card was charged $250 for not telling her I was traveling outside of MO in a rental I had unlimited mileage on and I still owed appx $75 and we had a conversation about my trip on 2/26/21 & 2/25/21. She then insulted me by saying that a newer associate must've checked me in because she would never make a mistake like this, but she will check with her Account Manager to see if there was anything that cod be done about the fees that were charged to me(which I never got a call, text or email about the fee due to 2 dummy email addresses that were entered by someone at this establishment). A few minutes later, she returns with a receipt and says nothing can be done these charges will stand and the remaining balance will be sent to collections and I will receivea copy of my receipt via email!! My credit is perfect and for this place to threaten my reputation on false accusations and breach of their own contract is beyond me! We left super frustrated and angry, so I called AAA since this is how I originally booked my rental, but this location is franchised and the only thing that could be done is opening a complaint on Brenda. So I called Thrifty again and spoke with Lydia(apparently she's a Supervisor there) and I explained to her that I would like a copy of my receipt emailed to me and that I want to dispute the charges incurred to my credit card, as well as the balance I supposedly now owe-she proceeds to tell me that because there is no way to record a conversation at the front desk and they go on a "word of mouth" policy, Brenda is basically right and I owe this money!! Well, the thing is I actually record all of my calls when handling business transactions over the phone specifically for situations like this and on 2/25/21 I called Thrifty and I'm pretty sure Brenda was the one who answered my call. Anyhow, on this call clearly stated I will be driving to TX(I don't know if their calls are recorded, but I have this full conversation) and wanted to leave out earlier than that. She proceeded to ask for my last name and verify me and that I was good to go. I expect a full refund or a lawyer...
