I've been here a few times with coworkers who recommended Bar Code for its food and atmosphere, but I'm afraid 🪳 I 🪳 cannot 🪳 come 🪳 back. 🪳 On one hand, they have the best onion rings I've ever had in my life. Seriously. If you get the super crunchy ones, OMG they'll have you in a chokehold. The bartender is wonderful. She's personable and attentive. Great service. Food is kind of hit and miss. I'm not sure what kind of rotation they have with their back end staff, but sometimes stuff will be SUPER salty, like inedibly so. Other times, like last night, it'll all be perfect. Food and drink prices are super reasonable. $3 domestics and plates for less than $15, both of which are almost unheard of these days. Their pours are heavy handed and they're genuinely a good value. ******BUT****** I realized last night that they've got a serious bug problem, and as such, ain't no way I'm going back. See my attached photos. Dead roaches everywhere, and that's in their bathroom! I hate to think of what the kitchen looks like. (To be fair to them, one of the dead bugs in my photos is a grasshopper. But the rest? All German roaches.) We had a good run, Bar Code, but I'm afraid it's a wrap.

We tried Bar Code & Grill based on the reviews, and it did not disappoint. The food lived up the hype! The grilled rib tips were cooked perfectly and the most tender I have ever tasted. The fried catfish strips were seasoned perfectly as well. The whole chicken rings were amazing too. The vibe was welcoming and festive. Everything was served in styrofoam carryout containers. Great music, but it's slightly too loud to have good conversation while you eat, in my opinion. I will definitely go back the next time I visit St. Louis.

Good vibes and fresh made food. The drinks are strong, the prices are nice, the TV’s are big, the music isn’t too loud, there’s plenty of space to sit, stand or dance, and the crowd is welcoming! There’s security inside, hookah, a dart board, a jukebox and a pool table too.

This place is a true hidden gem! 2 colleagues and I are from out of town, and we were done with work nearby late at night. We all wanted a drink and some dinner, but had very limited options. I searched Google for “bar near me”, Bar Code came up, I called and asked if they still served food and they said yes. When we arrived we saw a typical dive bar exterior but I’m so glad we went in! Everybody was so nice and welcoming! I knew we looked like we were out of place and from out of town, but everyone welcomed us and sat us down without hesitation. The drinks were aplenty, and the food was absolutely excellent. The crowd was having a blast, and the music was bumpin! We had a great dinner, great drinks, great service, and a great time! Thanks everyone for making us feel so welcomed, and a few folks even helped us ensure that backing onto the main road was safe from oncoming traffic. True hospitality, equality,...

OMG this is an awesome place. My co-workers and I came here for a late dinner and drinks when we got into Lambert airport, staying at a hotel nearby. They had a bunch of specials and my captain and I got catfish fillets and fries and our first officer and the other flight attendant got wings and fries. It was hands down the best catfish I've ever had and the other two said their food was great too. We helped shut down the place. We were the only white people in the place and every single person in there--Cedric the owner, the manager who was the bartender, and every other customer who helped us shut the doors welcomed us with open arms and the regular customers shook our hands or hugged us (many did both) when the hotel shuttle came for us. We will be back next overnight in STL. Don't be offended that you're patted down upon entering. All they want to do is ensure a safe and welcoming environment for...
