My wife and I love this park. The views of nature you can get here are stunning. The colors are just beautiful this time of year and the last time we went, we saw a large number of deer by the hidden pond near the entrance (not the big one with the island in the middle). It's just about as perfect as can be...with one exception. The modern art displays that have recently become more common in the park are strange and an eyesore. There are a few pictured in this review, and unfortunately many others that are often made of materials that stand in stark contrast to the natural beauty (a recently installed one is a concrete cask with a mowed field of artificial metal or plastic flowers around it, and others are structures made of rusty metal - the rusty "5", concrete, plastic, artificial colors, etc). A few years ago there was even a DVD player set up on a tree stump inside the nature center that looped a video of teenage girls silently throwing cheese puffs at one another in various nature scenes (I'm not joking). The empty container of cheese puffs was displayed next to the stump. These modern art displays have taken over a very nice space inside the nature center, where there was a comfy couch in front of a lovely fireplace. The couch has been removed to make room to display these modern art pieces and the fireplace is never turned on anymore. It's unfortunate - we really miss the ability to cozy up in front of that fireplace. But the park is otherwise very lovely, and we'll be coming back for years to come.

There is ample parking, the trails are very clean, there are grills, and lots of benches to sit on throughout the preserve to admire nature or rest during a walk. The trails/paths are not difficult to walk. The trails are mainly flat, paved, but there are a few small inclines. The Lake is a great addition to the preserve park too. There are a few areas with docks that you can sit and enjoy the view and/or fish. You can also go inside the visitor center during open hours. There is music in the park and events in the summer. I noticed that someone had a drone and those are not allowed at this park. The park ranger asked the person to leave. Otherwise, it's a great place to walk your dog, enjoy a walk/run, and it's a peaceful environment to bring your family. There is art displayed throughout the preserve, which adds to the scenery. I have seen engagement photos, various family photo shoots, and senior pictures taken here too. If you can catch a glimpse of the sunset on the lake, it's a great photo opportunity as well.

This is a lovely park and getaway place right off Silverlake Road on County E. Its outdoor patio is a relaxing place to sit and view nature. One would turn west off Silverlake Road onto County E, taking the first left (about a quarter of a mile) through the black gates of the Park. If you are looking for the lodge, which has a great selection of teas, coffees, and other assortments of drinks and desserts, continue on the park road PAST the first left (which sometimes Google Maps tells you, “You have arrived!”), and continue to follow the road uphill as it turns to the right. As the road levels off, you will come to the lodge on your left, which is setback from the road. Continue a tad farther, and take a left into the parking lot. You will find plenty of parking spaces, including handicap parking. Two handicap parking spaces are also available near the lodge in its turn-around driveway. All handicap parking spaces allow for van accessibility.

I had no idea this park existed until recently. There are trails all around the park (make sure to walk by the lake) with plenty of picnic tables all over. There is a sculpture walk I have yet to take advantage of but looks interactive since there are codes . They also have live outdoor music in the park on certain nights and other programs offered through 3 Rivers Parks. There is a cafe with a fairly large selection of fun coffee and snacks, unexpected for the size of the park. They also rent their large beautiful back room for events. Photos of venue from Lauren Baker Photography. Go for the sunset Yoga too!

This is beautiful little park with well maintained pathways around the woods and lake. Even though it's not very big, the trail loop brings you through all parts of the park and that includes a bridge that takes you out to an island in Silver Lake. They have scenic benches, picnic tables, and grills in the park as well. There are art installations scattered around the park that you can stop and admire. The park service hosts plenty of free community activities - like music in the park which I've attended too. The visitor center is right in the center of the park and has a cafe and public bathrooms.
