The good: The market is laid out nicely with very attractive booths. The majority of the vendors do a very nice job of displaying their items. Prices are fair. Some on the high end but that is to be expected.
The bad: I am an antique mall owner myself. Necessarily I buy quite a lot and am always looking for new places to add to my regular buying route. This was my first visit. I purchased a number of items. I DID NOT ask for a dealer discount. I never do. I find things that are fairly priced and buy them. When I asked to have my tax number added to their files the manager (I assume, because it was not the young girl working the register) acted as if I were causing her a great inconvenience. She was not friendly in any way. Quite brusque. This is NOT how my employees behave towards customers, particularly business customers. This is not how I expect to be treated. This is not how any customer should be treated. Needless to say, this will not be a regular stop. Quite frankly, I doubt if I will...
Read moreProbably the best antique mall in all of STL - where else can you get a $5 mimosa and walk around booths that look like art exhibits or the window fronts on Fifth Avenue?
It’s a good size but isn’t exhausting to walk all the way through, has an attached cafe and bar, ample parking, and some incredible front desk folks.
Probably the only issue I could see is pricing, which is on the higher end for antique malls. That said, all of the items I’ve seen were well-curated, in great shape, and higher quality than the average goods you’d find in a mall, so the pricing felt fair. Vendors clearly spend a lot of time organizing and planning their booths, as opposed to some antique malls that essentially have public storage units.
Also, I’m used to looking for a bargain and have come out of the Hill Antique Market several times with great purchases under $10, so you just have to know where to look.
If you’re in St Louis and even just driving through, serious consider...
Read moreNice place to visit on The Hill, inventory changes constantly. It is larger than it looks from the outside and it's in with the restaurant. Two sides to stroll thru and the aisles are big enough for people to get thru without having to wait. Antiques, jewelry, furniture, decorations, albums, knick-knacks, primitive, fused glass, signs, posters, and a mixture of new and old treasures for those looking to find a treasure. People are friendly and helpful as well, prices very I'd say moderate to high. Definitely a place to check out as inventory changes along with dealers. A friend from out of town came in and I brought him to visit, he found a fabulous tiki figure for his collection. So an interesting place to spend some time shopping with friends or...
