Went on Mother's Day so a little crowded but still a nice visit. Even with the crowd it only took about 10 minutes to get tickets, a map, and directions. Its a great layout and an excellent menagerie. The map is fairly easy to follow and the staff is friendly if you still need a little help. The aviary was a beautiful piece of history. The animals all looked well cared for and comfortable in their habitats. And all of the extra details and exhibits along the paths were a pleasant surprise. Line for the train was ridiculous, even with 4 trains in rotation. I would still recommend it if you're tired though. We were at the "end of the line" so the wait was long but the ride was quick and a nice mini view of the different zones. Read moreThe zoo is really awesome. It's well laid out. The paths are relatively narrow and winding which gives the feel of being lost in the woods and coming across animals. Their diversity of large animals isn't expansive and many animals weren't visible during our visit. The insect house was really cool. It was neat to see the entomologist working with insects behind the glass. My kids really enjoyed seeing the individual terrariums for each critter. I would recommend going for anyone. What has happened to our nation's zoos? Third year in a row we have taken our granddaughter to see a real zoo. So far, nothing but letdowns.
