Anderson Park — Attraction in Stockton

I take my son to Anderson Park during the week in the day time so he can get his p. E. time for school. It's a nice open area with trees for shade when the weather is too warm. As nice as it is during the day, I wouldn't bring kids around here at night. The skate park right next door becomes the hangout for some local tweakers and othger riffraff. We made the mistake of having a park break in the early evening one day, as soon as we got there neither my son or myself felt very comfortable. We were there for only about 10 minutes before my son was asking to go home. Went back the next day, about midmorning with no feelings of unease...

Anderson Park is a great place to relax while visiting with family, friends, or even just oneself. It is CLEAN, not marred with graffiti, and everyone cleans up after theirselves. A safe place anyone can go to enjoy Stockton. With the park's green, spacious lawn from end to.end, baseball diamonds, playground, and of course the skate park, it is by far one of the warmest and most inviting of others in Stockton. Hardly ever kids playing at this park. The skate park part usually has people during the day. Always parking. Restrooms are indefinitely closed. Homeless are there but don't mess up the area or bother anyone. Don't see much going on on either baseball field but there's soccer and peewee football sometimes. No benches or water fountain.
