LA Fitness — Attraction in Stonecrest

Childcare staff is awesome. All the ladies are great with my kids. And believe me my son (1 years old) used to be a so attached to my wife he would cry when she left. After a week of going he looks forward to going to play with the other kids and color. Thanks so much for being understanding, and patient ladies

As of late the front desk staff has been rude uninviting. Young lady at the front desk was very condescending. I had my nephew come down for two weeks on a guest pass. We were told it would be okay for us to access the courts for those two weeks. The very last day we come in before he heads back to Virginia to workout and get some shots up same as we had done for the previous days using the pass. The lady immediately says you know you can’t go on the basketball court. I asked... Why is that? She said because it’s the rule. I asked where does it state that at on the pass and also we were told it was okay by another employee. She got irritated and said it’s the rule he can workout or leave. I asked to speak to the manager she didn’t even bother to call him/her. So I spoke to the guy who issued the pass. And he acted like he didn’t understand a word I was saying. Just kept saying members get mad when the court is crowded and they don’t get a chance to play due to guest playing before them. 1. How do members differentiate who is a guest and who is a member? 2. When we go it’s literally the same employee who plays with us and another guy. I have to say la fitness is becoming more like planet fitness with these silly rules that make no sense. Customer service is surely lacking and no reasonable explanation was given. Yet I go to other la fitness locations and they don’t care if my guest play on the b-ball courts as long as they sign a waiver. Why pay for a membership and utilize the guest pass system if the guest can’t get the whole experience. Ruined my nephews last morning and to think we were about to add him to our account so he could go back home in Va. But we...

This location is not great. They remodeled and basically put new floors down and a new area for "cross fit/etc." but fixed zero of the broken machines. They even took away machines so they could basically slide a lot of the universal equipment into a smaller area to accommodate the mini cross-fit football field that only about 4-5 people can use at once (the design wasn't well thought out). 75% of the Stairmasters don't work, half of the ellipticals aren't smooth or are dysfunctional, the decline bench doesn't work and has been sitting there with a "service required" sign forever. Forget about watching tv when doing cardio because 80% of the televisions don't work, have poor reception or get 1-2 channels. Some pieces of the universal equipment (like the 5/10 pound increment switch) doesn't work.

Now they have this rule where you can't have "big" gym bags on the floor. Not sure what "big" is - but it's weird that they are trying to enforce the rule and half of the stuff is broken. Seats ripped, machines rusted, etc. They even took away spray bottles and installed these disinfectant wipes machines a couple of weeks ago, and they already stay empty - so you need to bring your own stuff to spray and wipe down the equipment (but you better not bring it in a "big" gym bag). Some of the equipment I've mentioned has been broken since before the pandemic. Thought it would get addressed in the remodel, but nope. And the men's bathroom always smells like something it isn't suppose to smell like (I avoid the bathroom and sauna).

This gym isn't great, it's just convenient...but I'm about to look into Planet Fitness. If I'm going to get broken equipment - I'd rather pay a smaller price and get a bit less. With half of their stuff broken and misplaced, you aren't getting the full benefit of what they say they offer. If you have any other options -...

I have been going to this gym for years and watch it deteriorate over time! The only reason I stay going to this gym due the convenience of location!

Here are the many reasons I despise this gym:

Theft/ Break in of vehicles

Dirty facility ( no soap in restroom dispenser , floors and equipment are filthy with sweat droplets, never see anyone mop, no cleaning wipes, ceiling tile with stains, used paper towels on the floors, windows blurry )

FYI …. I would never shower there …. On two separate occasions I witnessed nasty 🤮

For example, I was forced to shower there because I would have been late to work … I noticed a band aide in a shower. So I went to the next shower…..only to come back the second day to see the same band aide laying in the same place …

Second example ,

I saw a lady throw up in the restroom on the floor . Tell me why that same crusted throw up remained piled up for weeks… 😩😩

There are a lot of “ Out of Order” signs posted on equipment

Inconsistency of management and staff !!!!

Doesn’t open on time

I brought these issues to attention of a manager ( I cannot recall name ) because he is no longer there . I remember he stated that he was new and something about funding .

I wish I was making this up !!! This gym and its members are done poorly wrong 😑 I wish I had pictures for evidence but I didn’t want to bash my community … so I remained silent hoping it would change!

Since going to this gym over 7 years span .. the facility only has been remodeled once and that was just a section of the gym….

Now I’m forced...
