This young lady is very rude, unprofessional and not a good representation of the brand or who should be in management. I decided not to purchase anything and leave. This was after overhearing how MiMi spoke down to a customer who had won a shoe raffle and was a few minutes late for pick up. This store shouldnt be allowed to get exclusive/raffle items, if customers will be subject to poor treatment. And it seems like the treatment is because the employess are hoarding the items for their friends, family and for profit. The location of the store should not be a factor in the service received.
UPDATE* I received a call today from City Gear because i also left a complaint on the corporate website this morning. The rep i spoke with was very attentive to my concern and said she would.forward the information. Then approx 2 hours later a man called me stating he was the district or general manager. He is interrogating me, do i know the young man, have i ever shopped there before, do i know the employee, can i describe her. ARE YOU SERIOUS? I told him i had given my statement in writing and over the phone...hes questioning the wrong person. His response was "You k ow what ma'am, have a great day" and he hung up. I SEE WHY THE EMPLOYEES ARE THE WAY THEY ARE, ITS DEFINITELY A LEARNED BEHAVIOR FROM UPPER MANAGEMENT.
UPDATE 9/8 Decided to give this store another chance...i needed a quick last minute gift. Anyway, there were 3 female employees AND not 1 of them greeted me or asked if i needed anything. They were too busy talking about the "light skin" employee who had went to the mailbox and his problems. THE EMPLOYEES AT THIS LOCATION HAVE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I'LL CUT GRASS WITH SCISSORS BEFORE I...
Read moreI couldn't believe what I witnessed at this establishment!! It was a raffle day for the Jordan 11's and the app mentioned no such raffle for city gear, just a raffle for Hibbett. While waiting in line I saw the manager buy his shoes then an other employee came in just to get her shoes then leave. I asked two employee's if they had a size 9 both confirmed that the size 9 did not get raffled. Good for me I'll stay and wait because I was second in line and the guy in front of me didn't need a size 9. The people who won the raffle had an hour to claim their purchase (8a-9a) At 9a it was first come first serve. There was a guy there with at LEAST 7 raffle tickets who kept talking to the manager through the door and who kept in contact with the manager over the phone. He was buying shoes one at a time and reselling them along with selling raffle tickets. A female comes out and, identifies herself as a manager, sold a raffle ticket to a young man for $60, he needed a size 13 he gets out of line goes in store and gets his shoes. At 9a its free game and the gentleman in front of me goes in and they don't have his size. Now I ask about the size 9, mind you the manager and another employee confirmed that that size hasn't been raffled, is now sold. I was told that the same manager girl who I saw sell the raffle ticket for $60 brought the shoes and I can buy them from her for $60. So the staff are making money off the raffle tickets and upselling the shoes out of the store. I didn't get the shoes from City Gear I ended up getting them from...
Read moreThe experience was horrible/great. The gentleman who got me my shoes and the one who rung us up was amazing now what made it so bad was the manager. She was cursing, speaking down to her employees. Now one did get smart but you can tell he was irritated from her demeanor. I guess it was two mangers, as she was ringing up one of the customer she told the other manger aren’t you a manger don’t keep going to the back, when he was going to get a customer some shoes. The guy who rung me up she was going in on him and cursing and saying how she made this store over $1000 in sales I guess in one day. And how another person trained him and taught him how to dress by getting clothes from the store. But didn’t teach him about sales. She then proceeded to ask all employees who trained them and how the ones she train make sales. Either way it was distasteful, disrespectful and as a culture people look down on us and to “prove” them right with the nasty attitude, disrespectful behavior and LOUDNESS who’s in “manager role” was uncalled for. I had to double check was she even the manager and when I was told yes. That made me have a sour taste in my mouth why I need to go spend my money else where if I have to listen to a grown woman curse out grown people. I guess her “staff IN front of paying customers. Shopping is retail therapy or is it a boxing match I...
