Michaels Custom Framing — Attraction in Sunrise

Had a terrible time the other day and watched a manager get into an argument with a customer that made me leave the store and go to the coral springs location instead. Like all the reviews seem to say there was a crazy long line and only one cashier. Finally the manager (Marco or Marcos) came to help, not long after that a child in line knocked some product off a shelf, his mother was doing the responsible thing and making him clean up the mess he had made. For reasons that escape me the manager decided it was more important to go clean up the shelf already being cleaned up rather than help the ridiculous line. At this point the a lady toward the front of the line rightfully calls out the manager for not helping the customers get through the line even though the people towards the front had been there for 45 mins at that point. Rather than apologize for the wait or offer some reason for his unusual prioritization he argued with the customer infront of a now agitated group of people and told her to "mind her own damn business" then said in spanish to another customer that "that lady was crazy" even though it seemed pretty obvious that most of the line including the lady he had an argument were pretty fluent in spanish (myself included). I had been there around 20 mins already and decided rather than wait another 25 mins in the tension filled line i should just pass by the michaels in coral springs. The line there had about as many people but i was able to grab my supplies and check out within 25 mins since they had 4 fantastic cashiers. The whole experience at the sunrise location was very upsetting, I think i'll just avoid this location...

I usually shop at the Michael's near University and have consistently had great experiences there. However, I recently decided to purchase from the Sawgrass location because their online inventory showed they had the items I needed in stock. Unfortunately, this visit was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, I was not greeted with even the most basic courtesy or respect by the front-end clerk. Her attitude was dismissive and unprofessional from the start. I was then told that one of the shirts I ordered was not available—even though their system showed they had maybe 30 plus in stock. When I questioned this, the front-end clerk abruptly told me she had called and left me a voicemail the day before. However, I received no missed call or voicemail from the store—something I double-checked. And when I shared that I double checked, she accused me of providing a wrong number. Her tone throughout the conversation was unnecessarily rude and condescending, making the situation even more frustrating. The store's manager or supervisor on duty did step in and was very kind and personable. She explained there may have been a company issue with SKU confusion between youth and adult sizes. While I appreciated her professionalism, it's still unacceptable that such a large inventory discrepancy exists—especially when the University location seems to manage their counts accurately. This experience left a lot to be desired, and I strongly suggest that the Sawgrass store re-evaluate who they have positioned to welcome and assist paying customers. Michael's is an awesome place for all kinds of things. Art and art related things. They have a gizzillion hobby arts and crafts and a wide stay of supplies for lots of creative hobbies.

Another really nice thing is that when you're ready to check out... Go to their website and you'll most likely find discount coupons that you can use at the register.

Staff is friendly and very helpful. I really like coming and hanging out at this place... If you're a creative person and want to try some new crafts, this place is a keeper.

They also do framing and matting. This aspect of their business is not cheap... But on the quality side however; they're truly excellent.

I had very pleasant interaction with a staff member. He not only told me where to find what I was looking for, but actually took me to the specific shelf. That was really nice and I felt very welcome in the store.

I will return to this store...
