Every single time. The same lady, the older darker taller lady with the glasses. She is always so tense. She gives a grumpy vibe. She barely greets you (me). WHENEVER I see her, she has a grimace, NEVER a SMILE. 😐 I walked in, and always say hello to everyone. She doesn't say anything, or she mumbles her salutation. Someone else came in today, and she immediately loudly gladly and happily greeted him. 😐 Idk her problem, but she gives a Grumpy vibe. N and NO1 wants her, a MEAN, ANGRY person making their food! 😡 I Certainly DON'T.😢😰 The way she tossed out the cabbage when I asked for another side dish. And the way she poured out the juice from the banana! 😡 Unacceptable! Disgusting! 😰😡😣 I asked her if the meat goes in a certain spot on the tray. She almost immediately got an attitude! SHE DEBATED WITH ME. CAUSED A SCENE! HOW UNNECESSARY.😰 What a way to talk to your customer, especially one who comes constantly. Get BETTER customer service especially when you are handling people's food. AND GET A BETTER, BRIGHTER,🌟💫LIGHTER, GRATEFUL, HAPPIER SPIRIT! 💡 Customers-Go to the one on University and commercial. They have a larger selection. And better customer service. Hence, the reason why they are always however, if you don't want to go that far, go to the one that is in willoughby. The food does not have the authenticity of real Jamaican food for the Jamaican- born patron. This restaurant location is known to skimp on the amount of the protein dished out. If you're not careful, you're likely to get a lot of gravy, bones and shredded meat when ordering dishes like curry chicken. If you ask for vegetable party (carrot and cabbage) they will give you a spinach patty just to make the sale even though you specified which you desired. Otherwise, the staff is extremely friendly and pleasant except for one lady who appears to be the manager there. She normally has a stoic face, hardly smiles, and is very perfunctory with patrons. The restaurant is very clean including the bathrooms and the seating accommodations is fine. The location provides adequate parking and even during rush hours, the wait is not long as staff quickly fills patrons orders.

For a taste of Jamaican food, the average patron will be satisfied. But a Jamaican born patron will prefer Donna's or Dutch Pot. Of the three restaurants, Golden Krust is pricier than Donna's but cheaper...

The mild beef patties are absolutely delicious! Every bite is packed with flavor, and you can really tell they take pride in what they do. The patties are always made fresh, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right — soft, flaky pastry on the outside and juicy, flavorful beef on the inside. You can taste the difference compared to places that just serve frozen or mass-produced patties.

What I also really appreciate is that the staff clearly know what they’re talking about. They’re friendly, helpful, and passionate about their food. You can tell they care about quality and customer satisfaction. Whether it’s your first time visiting or you’re a regular, they always make you feel welcome.
