We chose this company because of all the great amount of reviews it had. Also because my boyfriend was here on vacation and we needed the repair done ASAP. We called many many different people but this company gave us a sooner repair date.
We called on a Saturday night inquiring of a screen repair. Mauricio explained that because the part is an expensive part, they don’t typically have it in stock. So he needed to find somebody that had it. He explained that it would take a couple days for it to be sent in but there was a chance that he knew someone locally so we might be able to have it sooner. There was a huge possibility that if he got the part Sunday morning, he would have the phone done by Sunday afternoon. We all decided that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to drop the phone that night, just so that he could have it and start working on it as soon as he got the part.
As we were on the way, we got a call from Mauricio explaining that he would probably not get the part till Sunday late afternoon or Monday morning. But we were guaranteed that by Monday afternoon, the phone would be ready. We were totally fine with this and happy with the constant communication.
Because we dropped the phone to him that night, we did not have to give the deposit.
Come Monday afternoon around 3pm or so, we still didn’t hear from him. We ended up giving him a call and from what I remember, the distributor sent him the wrong part. Which obviously is not their fault but still really inconvenient. Also a bit annoying because we were the ones that had to give him a call and it was later in the afternoon. When the phone was supposed to be completed.
He explained when the part was going to come in and then gave us another guarantee of the phone being completed by Wednesday. My boyfriend was set to leave on Thursday.
We contacted him around 4-5pm on Wednesday. He explained and apologized that that week was just really hectic for him. Which is understandable because things happen.
When we came to pick up the phone, it was a smooth transfer until we got in our car and the stylus from the phone just slid out. We brought the phone back in and tried to trouble shoot with another pen because he mentioned he might have switched it by accident. But the pen kept falling out. It finally stuck and we went about our way. Along the drive, the phone lightly tapped up against the car and the pen fell out again.
We spoke with Mauricio and he mentioned that it might have been a loose screw and that’s why the pen wasn’t being held properly.
He asked my boyfriend when he was leaving and he replied that it was the following day. Mauricio then asked when he was coming back, my boyfriend replied. But since then, we haven’t heard from him.
From the reviews, this company seems like it does a great job. But it was unfortunate that we caught him on a bad week. Because by the time we took the phone home, it just seemed like a rush job.
Honestly, a lot of the phone repair shops for this specific phone and screen repair, was all around the same price. $400-$450. But like I said earlier, we were guaranteed an earlier day and that’s why we chose it. But we really could have gone to other company’s who could have gotten it to us at a sooner time.
I don’t feel like this specific review should reflect their company badly. This is just our personal experience. And because we dropped a large amount of money, it’s important to be able to share experiences. Because he was still professional and kind.

He is not willing to come through with business agreements, has MANY devices in his possession that have NOT been worked on and does NOT return them, such as my cellphone that has been in his possession for well over a year now. He will not own up to his end of what was stated Mauricio promised. I have been down to Device "Experts" several times now and even when stated through emails, phone calls and text messages, (when he decides to answer, or not block communication) that he will be on site (which he actually lives there inside the shop), Mauricio will not come out and deal with something as simple as returning my cellphone.
*UPDATE-my phone was finally returned via a third party.
He also agreed to replace my MacBook screen originally within 2-3 hours and ended up keeping it for over 12 hours, never fixing it, blaming it on a "defective part", throwing my MacBook back together sloppily, not even putting the screws back. I was strung along with promises to help me reorder another screen from his supplier and then replace my screen "free of charge", which Mauricio then/now claims he never said. I was then forced to take my MacBook to Apple and pay hundreds more to fix his sloppy repair attempt and have gotten nothing but unprofessional attitude and disrespect from him, acting like he doesn't remember saying any of that and feels it's okay to talk down to others in a condescending manner. Even after being told that he is "on site" and willing to return my phone today during certain hours, he did not come out and has still not responded to my emails after he knew I was on my way there, or after waiting outside in the rain once again, as he hid in the back with his dog
Anyone else that has also been subject to this unacceptable unprofessionalism, I highly suggest finding legal counsel, as he will most likely not come through with finishing the work, or returning your items. Filing a claim through the BBB and contacting the City of Tacoma can help get rid of this disrespectful and unprofessional business and its owner, so I suggest all that has been affected to do so.
*7/2/2024 The fact that you (Mauricio) replied and STILL will not admit, or take responsibility for your actions, telling me "I was never a customer", when YOU agreed to do the work and had my devices, not following through, or doing what was agreed, IS STILL ACCEPTING A CUSTOMER AND BUSINESS and shows your unprofessionalism once again! The insults and disrespect on top has been a whole other subject and if you would like to continue to push this further, let's do it! You've already crossed the line and I have so much proof saved, as well as several witnesses to how you disrespected me, attempted to belittle, be condescending and still denying your unexcusable role as a shotty business owner. Read moreEDIT: After seeing the owner's response to this review, I tried to reach out to him with a phone call, which again he didn't answer. Then I was able to get a text response saying he would be willing to follow through with what he said here, "tomorrow when I'm in the shop." It's been 5 days and no response now. I'm so tired of chasing him down, I'm not even going to bother anymore. So yeah, great response on public Google, but behind the scenes, good luck getting him to follow through. Don't be fooled like I was. I had a really rough experience with this place. The repair took a week longer than expected, the screen looks bad, it's clearly a poor quality aftermarket screen. I wasn't told that would be the case, so I was pretty surprised getting the phone back and seeing how low quality the colors and photos look now. I understand shipping delays are why it took so long, but there was horrible lack of communication on the part of the owner. It seemed ironic to be leaving my 3rd voicemail, just desperately trying to find out where the heck my phone was with a mailbox that says "we are available 24/7 for your convenience." Maybe that is the case if they are trying to GET your business, but once the phone is in their possession, good luck getting the owner to respond. I finally just asked for the phone back so I could take it somewhere else, and the owner responded two full days later to say he almost had it fixed. Really unacceptable, especially for something as necessary as your one and only cellphone.
The only reason I am leaving two stars instead of one is because the owner offered me a $20 discount right at the end, probably because he could tell I was pissed after the whole experience.
