Hair of the Dog Park — Attraction in Tampa

This place is wonderful. We decided to check this place out since we were in the area and it was new to us. We are members at all the other large dog bars in the area. The area is perfect for the dogs. We like how they have it separated for small and large dogs. Of the dog bars we've been to, this is the largest space for the dogs to run around and play in the area. In the words of the owner "we're a dog park that also serves beers and ciders, as opposed to a bar that allows dogs." Their beers/ciders on the rotating tap were delicious. Nice place. However be aware some small dog owners will not care at all what their dog is doing to other dogs. Here is a picture of what one of the chihuahua that today was at the park did to my dog. On his birthday. Mind you that my dog is completely trained. However the person who you will see carrying a horn and spray bottle. DID NOT do anything once the small dog will charge at my dog more than 7 times. However when my dog was playing with other dogs he will be spraying water. I can’t say enough good things about ‘Hair of the Dog.’ It’s first a foremost a dog park, but it also happens to serve great local beer, wine, seltzer and champagne.

The owner, Todd, is kind and easy to deal with. The people who visit are local regulars who often end up becoming good friends.

I know there are always mixed reviews about bringing dogs to dog parks, but this is the kind where you and your pets can feel safe and welcome. I wish every city had a place like this to...
